Hi,
I just want to introduce myself really quick before I head to bed.
Hello Rachel...
It's a pleasure to meet you. :) With all the things going on in your life right now it's no wonder you have had a hard time getting rid of the baby weight. I am so sorry for the loss of your first baby. I lost a twin to an early miscarriage in my first pregnancy and a triplet at 19 weeks in my second pregnancy. 9 almost 10 years later I still mourn their loss. I can only imagine how devestating it was for you and the weight issues that resulted are completely natural. Also, I have a small clue what it's like to have special needs babies. All three of my sons were moderate and severe asthmatics as babies. At one point they thought the youngest two possibly had cystic fibrosis because of the lung souns. Because of, vanishing twin syndrome in my last pregnancy. Alex and Cory are higher functioning Autistic and epileptic. To cap it off I was a single mom from the Time Nicholas was born until he was 7 years old. Those first 4 years were a blur. I lost the baby weight with Nicholas and about 10 extra pounds when he was a year old. But it took almost 3 years for me to loose the baby weight with Alex and Cory and if truth be known they were probably closer to 5 before I got to where I wanted to be. In your case I'd say you are just now getting to the place where your body is ready to loose weight. I am finally at a weight I'm comfortable with although I'm in the process of loosing 10 lbs for race season but that's not a necessary loss. Just one for speed's sake. I'm 5ft 8 and 130. I race best at 120-125. To put that in perspective at my highest post baby weight I was 190lbs.
You have a great plan and you picked the best place on the web to be. The ladies here are very supportive. I'll check back often to see how you are doing but if you need to holler, whine, or just quietly recap what's going on. Know I'm around. Although I don't post daily. I try very hard to poke my head in every day to see what's going on. So if you ever need anything HOLLER

Hi Rebecca :) I am so glad you are joining this board. You have a lot going on in your life, but you can lose the weight...you sound like a very determined person...and you will be very inspiring to us all. :) My DH served in the Marines, and I am so thankful for all those that protect this country. Your DH will be thrilled about your surprise for him in June. I think that's a wonderful idea. :) PLease keep us updated about how your baby is doing. I hope that he keeps gaining and they keep finding nothing in those tests. I look forward to your posts here!

Rebecca, welcome to our board!!
Cute pictures, welcome to the board. This is one of the most active boards I am on. The ladies here have a lot of good ideas and have a great attitude toward life and a pretty good sense of humor too.
I do think it's harder to keep the weight under control now that I am 32. I saw a photo of me in my teens. I was so skinny it was almost ridiculous, and I liked sports and played some, but I sure didn't diet. Now, six days a week exercising and a close watch of the food intake, not as close as I should all the time, and I am just about to maintain. I would still like to lose 20 or so more pounds.
I had said to someone just yesterday that I so admire women who have children and still can make time to work toward their own good health.
Keep us posted as to your progress.
Lorie
Hi Rebecca, and welcome to the 30's board!
You have been through a lot in the past couple of years...and are still there with a smile on your face- which shows strong character. It's wonderful to see that your son is doing better by gaining some weight recently. Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way!
Yep-- our metabolism slows down in our 30's ensuring we work even harder to keep it up to par! We can do it....start off with baby steps. Making one change at a time- something you can successfully do (ie. drinking more water, walking for 10-15 minutes.....whatever)
This board is full of support, and quite active....with a wide variety of topics being discussed. Jump in and join us. Looking forward to hearing how you're journey goes-
