Hi everyone! I'm Diane, 35 years old who needs to lose 60+ lbs! What diets are you all on and which ones are working for you? Thanks!

Eat less and move more. Keep a nice ratio of calories in vs calories expended.
Welcome Diane!!
Hi Diane :) I bought the fitday PC version (20 dollars) and it told me how many calories I should eat a day to lose how-ever-much-a-week I wanted. I put in my goal weight and date into their software and it told me to how many calories to eat each day. I started Jan 27th and have lost steady each week (with the exception of this week...cycle issues) and am down 22.5 pounds so far...about 15 to go. Most things I can see the calorie count on the food's packaging, but for things I don't know, I can look up in fitday...so it's easy. Because of the counting calories, I have started eating tons more of the healthy foods and except for OJ in the morning, I almost always drink water all day long (so I don't waste my calories on something that is not filling)...so all the "rules" I heard for so many years (drink more water, eat more veggies) started to make sense to me finally. When I reach my goal weight, fitday will help me maintain it because they also tell how many calories to eat just to maintain. So it's teaching me what is over-eating for my body (I'm very short). I won't ever be overweight again. I wish I had this information a long time ago. :) I am much more satisfied on what I eat now, than I was when I was eating over 3000 a day...and feel lots better too.

Hi Diane, and welcome to the 30's board! That's too bad about your leg giving you hard times...but I believe there are ways around not being able to *work-out* hard to lose weight.
The previous posters suggestions are right on- I especially like the way Michele (iluv2step) worded it all!!
Good Luck, looking forward to posting with you-

What fitday does is it asks you all your current info, then asks for your goal weight...then the date you want to be that weight by...and then it tells you how many pounds a week you need to lose on average...and how many calories a day you should eat to lose that amount in a week. So with the amount of calories you can eat, you can correctly plan your meals. I don't usually plan everything out to a T...I just came to have a good feel for what to have each meal, that would not leave me hungry. :) It doesnt' actually give you meal plans and such. Although I hear that ediets.com does that. I like to plan my own things. I have a friend using ediets..it gave her the calories she should be eating and then also supplies meal plans for each day. HTH. :)
