I'm hungry......again.

Okay, what is going on? I am hungry in the morning, and I eat my cereal at 7:30am. Lately though, I've been STARVING by 10:30am or so....so I've been eating my carrots.

Then I eat lunch around noonish. But today, I was starving, and I was going to go hit balls at lunch (golf range), so I ate around 11:30. It is now 2:30 and my stomach is hungry again. And I'm out of carrots and healthy foods, so that leaves me with semi-bad stuff.

I don't know what to do. lol. At this rate, I'm going to eat myself to death with carrots and stuff. hehehe.

Now, granted I can say, oh good, my metabolism is going, but jeez. I'm hungry!

Also, usually I eat lunch, then I'm hungry around 4:30 or so, so I eat my snack and then eat dinner around 6:30. Now I'm going to start hitting the gym, so I'll be ravenous by the time I eat...which will be around 8-9ish.

Your thoughts? What can I do? Just start packing for like 2-3 snacks from 7:30am to 5:30pm?

There is nothing wrong with having several healthy snacks during the day, the trick is to figure out what sticks with you.

Try nuts, granola, yogurt, anything whole grain (brown rice, soy sauce and nuts will stick with you for HOURS!! It's not even bad cold.)

Carrots, though great for you, won't stick with you for long, you need really nutrient dense foods, like nuts. They are high in essential fats and really give a lot of energy.

Good luck and enjoy your metabolism!

Thanks. Problem being, I'm on weight watchers, and 24 almonds, for example are 4 points. That's alot. Carrots are zero. I need to find VERY low point foods that'll fill me up. I ate soy nuts and almonds, probably for about 5-6 pts. That's a meal. or should be. lol.

I'll keep the whole grain bit in mind though. Thanks.

....just a thought to making sure you're getting enough water?! Could be the possibility of dehydration. Keep it in mind too!

Hey Cher,

2 ideas for getting rid of hunger for a while: I don't know the points, but it seems like they would be pretty low:

1/2 a packet of instant nonfat Oatmeal (DH threw out the outside box, otherwise I would tell you the calories). You can add really quite a lot of water (1 cup?) and then microwave it for a minute or 1:30 and the oatmeal puffs up in the water and seems a lot bigger!

herbal tea with a splash of nonfat milk . The milk is key for me because otherwise the tea seems too acidic when I'm hungry.

distraction helps me with these mini snacks, saying I'll feel

Caryn,

Seeing as how I don't like apples normally, I have to ask, if I do that, microwave it with some splenda and cinammon, will it not taste like an apple? basically, I don't like the bitter skin and i'm WAY too lazy to peel it, and the insides usually make my mouth dry, which I hate.

However, if microwaving the sucker makes is better, and less bitter, then woohoo! I'll give it a try.

Lemme know.

Lyddi,

Thanks for the tips. I'll find out about the oatmeal. But I'm not to keen on it, so maybe i'll try a small packet or something. lol. And I never thought of the herbal tea, its' liquid that has taste. lol.

Hey Cher, I'd agree with the other ladies and say anything whole grain.
