I need advice! Keep giving it up....

I keep starting and stopping exercise programs. I'm not sure if I'm burning-ut from going at it too hard too soon, or if I get bored, or what.
I'm doing activities I enjoy. I just stop after two or three weeks.
Should I go at it, all gusto, six days a week to start?
Or, should I slowly work up from three days a week?
Should I start with both aerobic and weights... or just aerobic for a while?
(I do eliptical, circuit-training, and some walking/hiking thrown-in now and then).
I'd love your thoughts!
Barb

I find that when I decide 'that's it, I'm exercising 6 days a week no matter what' I burn out after a couple of weeks and it's tough to get back to the gym.
Listen to your body, if you are truly doing something you like, you'll look forward to it, then you'll want to do it as much as you can.

Hi Barb-- I agree with Karen here, start off slowly. Maybe the reason you're burning out too soon is because it's all too much to begin with. I always enjoyed walking, and that's where I start off after an hiatus...3-5 times a week. Slowly building up my stamina and not feeling like I can't continue, lol!
As for adding some weight work- yes I'd incorporate it somewhere into your week, along with cardio work.
Hoping to see you hanging around more-
