Anyone have an "ipod" thing?

Since I now walk while everyone is still sleeping, I dug up my old casset walkman to be able to listen to some music while walking. But it's old and I don't have many cassett tapes any more...it's kind of bulky too. I thought about a CD player, but they are big too and skip a lot don't they? So I know I am behind the times but I heard about these ipod things that you download your music to and they are small. I guess they make them to strap to your arm while running and still work? Can anyone tell me if it's worth the money...because I looked on amazon.com and they are 200 or more? I guess you just use your computer to download it into it? Is that from your own CDs or does it have to be online? Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I would like to be able to run with music...and I'm not crazy about the radio. I like to pick my own songs. Oh, and I don't run *yet* lol, just walk, but that's my goal...so I'd want it to stay put and not be bulky. I would really appreciate everyone's opinions!

I love mine!
I don't have an actual iPod, but I do have an MP3 player. I loaded all of my CD's to my computer and then made all kinds of different playlists, then I can change what I have on my MP3 player very easily. I like using it at the gym. It really pumps me up.
