Laryngitis and Working Out

Hi Everyone,

I'm around, but obviously, fallen off ALL of the wagons. However, I got laryngitis and I was wondering if anyone knows if I should or can work out. I mean, they say to rest your vocal cords, to drink a lot of fluids, etc, but I wonder, would huffing and puffing be bad for my vocal cords?

TIA.

Hey Cher, I found some info (not exactly for laryngitis, but some good guidelines!)

Thanks. I think I'm going to skip a hard work out and instead, just walk the dog. Why? Because, if I take deep breaths, I start to cough, my throat hurts, and it gets dry, and aggravates things more. lol.

So, I guess I answered my own question, but I'm keeping that post, cuz it's good info.

Thanks.

That makes sense to me Cher- I know I suffer from laryngitis a few times a year, I just see how I'm feeling before I workout-- but getting out there for a 30min stroll is good for you too.

Never underestimate the power of getting out and doing something!

Feel better :-)
