This sight wouldn't have interested me a few months ago because i was such in a rut with being overweight. But since than i have really cut down on my eating. And I have started walking for about 25-30 minutes in my neighborhood. I finally bought a digital scale and weigh myself every morning. I have gone from 132 to 124 (the lowest on the scale since i started but sometimes it goes up a couple pounds when my cycle nears.)I am around 5 foot 3.

I have been eating FRUIT HARVEST cereal (It is the best!!!!). You know those bags of freeze dried bananas they have hanging in the cereal aisle or strawberrys? I get a bag of the sliced bananas and they have the consistency of the marshmallows in Lucky Charms. They rock! Then I have a large cup of hot coffee in the morning with skim milk and splenda after i eat my cereal which helps to keep me 'regular'. Sorry, TMI but it's kind of anonymous here and it may help someone.

One thing that really helps and i feel is imperitive to maintaining a good eating light regime is having snacks. I have discovered granola bars (NOT the gooey kind but Nature Valley's crunchy kind)as a mid morning snack. And the biggest thing i have been doing is having a can of soup for lunch. I bring one in everyday and i find the warmth of it in my stomach makes me tremendously full. Then i eat a BIG green apple.(all the while the girls in my office are pulling out takeout menus and bringing back Schlotzkies Deli or chinese take out. They keep asking me "Are you still eating light?" I guess they are not used to seeing me be so strict and feel that i will fail eventually.) But it has been a lot easier to adhere to my goal because i keep reminding myself that everyone wants to practically sit in your lap and be with you while you are all eating junk and fattening foods, but where are they on the weekends when i cannot fit into any of my clothes or jeans???? I am alone. Just me and the jeans. So I keep telling myself that.

Anyway. for mid afternoon snack around 3:00, a box of cracker Jacks has only 120 calories per box and almost no fat. Or maybey I'll get a bag of 'cheeze its' from the vending machine. Yes, High in calories and 11 grams of fat but i just incorporate that into my total fat grams for the day-about 35 grams a day, more or less. I have to do that sometimes to stay on my regime.Gotta be realistic to a degree.

For dinner, I have been eating or should i say "diving into" a BAG of prewashed fresh spinach in which i have put a capful of extra light tasting olive oil(14 grms of fat, but healthy fat),red wine vineger,a SMALL can of chicken, one small slice of light swiss cheese (5 grams) torn to peices, onion powder/salt/pepper.And a MINISCULAl amount of those seasoned shaved almonds (from the produce section). One tablespoon of mayo )"Hellmans 2 Good"- only has 2 grams of fat per TBSP. It may sound like a lot for a salad, but considering i only had cereal and soup and 2 or 3 light snacks during the day, it's not. Sometimes i will have cod or salmon with vegetables. Or I saute LEAN stew beef in TbSP of olive oil and soy sauce and vegetables

But with the salad I just sit there on my couch with this huge, heavy Pyrex bowl and graze like a cow in grass. My husband is used to it and thinks it's cute. I say "Hey, i gotta do it. It's this or Papa Johns" I'm kind of an all or nothing kind of person.

For dessert at night, and this has been a lifesaver...an absolute must in my day is a mug full of hot skim milk, a tablespoon of Hersheys' baking cocoa and about 5 splenda packets and a generous amount of "cool Whipp Free".

I have been drinking lots of water. I buy those 24 packs and drink the water at room temperature so i don't even feel it going down. For a treat I drink about 2 Diet Sunkist cans a day. ANd an absolute must is a Prenatal pill every morning. We are trying to get pregnant and i say i am either going to be in a string bikini by summer or be pregnant with triplets. Which ever comes first. If i sound flip, it's because we have been trying to have babies for 12 years (a whole 'nother board).

Also, i have discovered Molly Mcbutter which i sprinkle liberally on microwaved vegetables. I feel i am eating healthy. I am going to win this fight. I feel so much better already. This works for ME. It is not the most perfect diet, high in sodium for sure i know and different things work for different people. But It is working for me. But one thing i am concerned about is administrative professional's day. Next week my boss is taking a few of us out to a nice restaurant. I hope, no i pray, that i will be able to eat sensibly. That's my story and i am sticking to it.

Hi, Island Girl! Thanks for your support. It means A LOT! My husband gives me a lot of support, but i can'treallyt talk hardly at all at work because the girls really don't want to hear about exercise, nor do i blame them. So i never talk about it.

I can't wait to continue reading about everybody here. This board is great!!! PS. I am down to 123. Last night I decided to excersise to some cool music. So i used my computer to download music like "Pump up the Jam' and "Snap" and "Rythym is a dancer" and "Groove is in the heart" and there i was in my computer/office room in a goofy outfit (my hubby's oversized plaid golf shorts!" TMI! TMI!! while i did every aerobics move i could remember. And worked out on my weight bench a little. The thing is i didn't wear sneakers- just my bare feet and boy, did the back of my calves hurt when i got up in the middle of the night. I will tonight that's for sure. What is your story? Talk to you soon :) :) (Big Smile)
