Powered Up Produce

Pairing veggies with avocado may help you get the full power of your produce.

Healthy fats in avocados aid carotenoid absorption, a recent study reveals. Carotenoids are the bright red, orange, and yellow pigments of colorful fruits and vegetables. These carotenoids have antioxidant properties that may help decrease the risk of heart disease and certain kinds of cancer.

....anyone catch 'Oprah' last night? It was all about healthy eating, etc.... Parts of it were rather explicit, but it was well worth watching!

I only ask because there was a part of it about foods to eat each day- and for what reason....I'll have to see if it's over at her site, as I don't remember them all now!

Plus they were saying that the most important number to know and be concerned about is your BLOOD PRESSURE- now I really want to get mine checked this month!! (Kerstin ;-)

Woo Hoo! I love Avocados, okay well maybe it's just the guacamole.

The whole blood pressure thing is interesting to me. I always run a little high. I always tell the Dr. that it has been the case consistently for over a year and they don't say anything after that. As if that explains it. I use to think if they aren't concerned then I'm not. However, should I be even if they appear not to be??
