Hey ladies, we've just had our May long weekend up here in Canada, and usually it means the beginning of planing season, and camping season - even though it can still be a bit chilly!!

Steffy

Mine is a snooze also:

What traditions do you have for Memorial Day Weekend? Picnics? Camping? Gardening?

---- not traditions, just glad to have a day off.

Do you treat the long weekend as the beginning of swimsuit season?? You know, starting a new diet, or fitness routine?

---- Since i work full time and have class at night I don't think i will be spending too much time in a swimsuit. But I do want to start eating healthy and exercising

Do you take part in any Memorial Day Celebrations?

---- Sometime, if i stumble into one. I should see what is going on in my town

When I was with my family, we always did cook out. Now SO usually invites me over, and he does something good on the grill. We may be going out to see our friends' new lake house this weekend sometimes as well.

I don't really change my exercise routine, except that I can be outside for walks/runs more now. We can wear T-shirts in HKD instead of the full uniforms now though-from Memorial Day through Labor Day if we choose. I guess I do pay a bit more attention to my body during these months because it is shorts, short skirts and swimwear time.

My dad used to, probably still does, lower the flag until noon as is propper for Memorial Day, but we didn't really participate in any events. There is a nice procession in the city where I now live. I should go, but I'm too lazy to get up for a 9 a.m. procession and ceremony on my day off. How selfish, can't get out of bed to give a half an hour of respect to the people who defended our freedom.

Normally we go for a family picnic, since it is also my husbands birthday. This year hubby is going to FL for his mother's surprise birthday party, so I'm not sure what the kids and I will do. This is also the weekend of the townwide yardsale, so we like looking around at other people's junk.

I don't care about swimsuit season. The only beaches I go to are filled with moms and kids and none of us look like swimsuit models.

Do you take part in any Memorial Day Celebrations?
Not formally.
