advice and support. I weigh 143lbs and am 4 feet 11. I'd like to weigh 100lbs which means I have 43lbs to lose.
I'm planning on walking every morning at 7am but so far, I haven't been able to muster enough willpower to get up on time. I guess I'm just not a morning person.
I undergo dialysis 3 times a week and I have home fellowship one evening a week, which means I only have 3 evenings to work out. That's why I hatched the 7am plan but I'm just too lazy and tired at 7am to make myself wake up to do it. I guess I just have to force myself.
I'm also cutting down the amount I eat, I have a sedentary job, btw. I tried following the south beach diet but I just can't give up white bread and rice. If I do, I'll have nothing to eat.
Btw, I'm 32 and living with my parents. My mom does the cooking. I don't earn enough to live on my own. I wish I did but I don't.
So, a big Hi to everyone here and I hope we can be friends.
Hugs,
Elaine

Dear Lorie,
Can I have the recipe to your chicken brown rice? Sounds yummy.
Y'know, I really, really need to force myself to get some exercise. I go for walks in my free evenings, but I usually get sidetracked when I stop by a neighbours house for a chat. I really need to stop doing that so I get some real exercise and not just walk to my neighbours house and get stuck there chatting.
My alarm went off at 7am this morning and I just got up and shut it and went back to sleep, I was just so sleepy! Maybe I should try going to bed earlier.
I can't have sprouted bread because of the potassium content.
Anyway, thanks for your reply,
Hugs,
Elaine
Elaine, good to see you again!
About 3 years ago I weighed about 165lbs...I was going to my best friends wedding and got down to 138lbs- watched portion control, walked 5x's a week (roughly 10 miles) and drank LOTS of water. Oh, I also stopped drinking. That's what worked and it took about 5months to lose those 27lbs. Now I'm back up to 149lbs, and so the 11lbs to hit my goal is to actually hit what I was at that time. Ultimately I'd like to be about 130lbs. I'm 5'3"---presently I'm just trying to hang onto the wagon and at least not put any more weight on.
Here's to us sitting on that wagon ;-)

OMG, I finally found it. I couldn't find the hard copy of the recipe, but I thought I had gotten it off the Food Netweork, but I found the copy I printed out today. It was from Kraft Food and Family magazine/website. They have lost of other brown rice recipes too, but I liked the ingredients in this one, and it seemed quick and simple.
Here's the link http://www.kraftfoods.com/main.aspx?s=recipe&m=recipe/knet_recipe_display&Rpage=1&u1=keyword&u2=brown%20rice&u3=**8*77&wf=9&recipe_id=69217
I didn't use Minute brown rice, just the plain ol' brown rice in the bag. I actually used my steamer for the rice while I did the other stuff in the skillet.
