Hi everyone...
My name is Cathy and I am a 34 year old single mom of a wonderful 6 year old. I am starting my weight loss program today.....mostly just trying to start eating healtier and exercise more.
My son is going to be a trooper he says and go walking with me every evening..he is actually excited about it which helps me so much.
I am looking forward to losing this extra 35 lbs that has taken up residence in my body. It hasn't been paying rent so it has to go.
I am very hopeful that this time I will stick to my program. I am glad that I found this board and with everyones support I am sure I will be successful.
So HI everyone and I look forward to going through this process with others who understand.
Thanks

Welcome to the board!
Great group of people here...Where abouts are you?
I'm in MA
Have fun starting on the journey, tons of great recipes here, and all kinds of exercises and diets going around.
Are you doing anything other than walking or just starting there? If so pick up walk away the pounds for days that it's bad weather out, she has a great workout!
Hi and Welcome!
I am in the same boat. 34 and looking to lose the extra 40 pounds that's been 'hanging around' for far too long. That's great that your son is going to be your team mate in this! It's very important to have a source of inspiration. I am taking my son as a helth partner as well. He is 13 and has gained an extra 20+ pounds in the last year after coming off his medication. I would like to wish you the best of luck and say congratulations on having the motivation and desire to make your life a healthier/happier one. I hope that we both are able to achieve our goals and if you'd like to keep in touch for motivation and progress checks, please let me know! I'll be here, paddleing right along with you!
Have a wonderful day!

Hi,
I'm Elaine and I'm 32, and I have 43 pounds to lose so I guess we're almost in the same boat. However, I'm single but I look as though I have some kids because I'm so fat. Is it ok if I joined you girls on accountability as it would be nice to have some diet partners.
I've decided to get up early every morning to go for walks, so far, my alarm has gone off and I just shut it off and go back to sleep. But not from tomorrow morning onwards, I will force myself up and go for my walks. I will walk this evening too. Wish me luck!
Hugs,
Elaine
Elaine,
I can only speak for myself, but I'd love to have a partner to 'check in' with!
I've never had to report progress to anyone before, but I feel that it might keep me a little more on track if I did. (Hubby's not much help, he tells me I look fine...I'd rather my pants DIDN'T fit as tight, thank you very much....lol)
If you have any ideas on a type of report system or a type of fitness program that maybe we could both try, let me know. I'm open to all kinds of ideas!
Hope to here from you soon and good luck on your endeavor!!
Happy Memorial Day to all!

Dear Jenn,
I don't have any reporting system, just to tell each other how much we lost/gained (but hopefully, lost, lol). I weighed myself yesterday and discovered that I'm actually 145lbs, which means, I have to lose 45lbs!
My alarm went off this morning and I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed.....so I didn't do my morning walk, but I'm going this evening. My fitness plan is not fancy, I just go for walks.
I can't do much exercise as I'm on dialysis and I get giddy spells if I exert myself too much, something to do with not enough blood cells.....
Anyway, it's nice to hear from you and if you want, you can suggest a fitness plan or reporting system, I'm open to ideas to. but I can't carry weights as I have a fistula in my right arm for dialysis.
Hugs,
Elaine
Hello,
I'm new here today too. I'm 34 years old and am embarking on a path of healthy eating and exercise today. My goal is to lose 30 lbs.
My hectic life/work has helped create the unhealthy, out-of-shape me that I am today, but I'm hoping to change that.
I'm not a regular on any message board anywhere but I decided that some support may help me reach my goal.
So hello to Cathy and all the other new and regular members here.
