Hi
We went to see Madagascar today at a theater/restaurant. It's pretty cool, you go in and sit at a table, they take your order and then as the movie starts everyone is served the meal and you eat as you watch.
I've been very careful lately about portion sizes, but with the lights out and the food placed in front of me I munched lunch and didn't pay attention to how big it was or how much I was eating. I seriously ate through 80% of the movie. I had a salad that was a meal in itself and then a grilled chicken sandwich that I never would have finished if I hadn't been so distracted, and of course there was popcorn on the table that we all munched while waiting for lunch.
It's been over 5 hours since lunch and I'm still uncomfortably full. They certainly give you your money's worth! It really illustrated to me how easy it is to overeat when you aren't paying attention. I let the kids eat in front of the tv once in a while and I have noticed that they eat better when they are watching. I also eat in front of the tube once in a while, but I portion out my food in the kitchen, so I don't really eat any more in front of the TV (of course, I don't enjoy the food as much either!)

I have to agree with you about this subject.
