So you know when you get that feeling, geez, as soon as May is over things will be smooth sailing.

Mint with pineapple, I'll have to give it a try. I bet that looked pretty too with the cherries. SO buys me a pineapple every once in a while. My friends think it's funny that he gets me a pineapple as a "gift" like other guys would give their GF flowers. I love them though, and they can be expensive here.
I'm working toward looking good for our camping trip, but that's the end of August. I try not to look forward to much to that yet, because then the summer will be over. I just bought SO tickets to a concert he's interested in for his 50th birthday in September. I don't want to start thinking about Sept. already.
Congrats on finishing your first 10k.
Lorie
Congrats on your 10k, I'm curious, how long did it take? And 77 is HOT? You're nuts.LOL. Actually, it's overcast and drizzly here. sucks.
and now i'm hungry. thank god it's almost lunch time. lol. btw. i LOVE pineapple, but my auntie in hawaii spoiled me. she makes it so that the pineapple is SWEET and does NOT leave that acidic weird taste in your mouth after. I ate as much as I could....and I made myself sick. lol. Never thought of pineapple with mint though.
and as you can see, i'm a pineapple girl. lol. only cuz that's what dbf calls me. i'm his little pineapple. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sweet, sick, cough, too much sugar. lol.
and don't make june go by so fast. i have 6 weeks to lose, and you're making me feel like it's tomorrow! lol

It seems like yesterday you got back from HI and had pictures posted on the web. Time flies but while at work it seems like it is standing still.
ANy way i LOVE the chow mein crunchy noodles. I get a can every so often to top my salad and end up eating the entire can. at that point they are no longer salad topings.
77 is hot when you are used to 47, but it is going to get hotter and more humid. What fun - when is winter? ;)
Miranda, register and have a great time. It will give you something to work towards and to look forward to.
Robyn
Hey Miranda X:)
Good luck with the speed dating, that actually sounds like fun X:) Let us know what happpens.
Congrats on the 10K! Thats awesome...I'm VERY jealous. Pineapple with mint and cherries, yummy.
I hear you about the thighs though, you ever notice they never just magically get smaller, they only seem to magically get bigger, why is that? Just once I'd love to have a moment when I notice something getting smaller on my body, wishful thinking I guess X:)
Patrice
OHHHH, the sad, sad stories I could tell you about my thighs.
Oh my I think we need to mix and match some of our body parts. I lose from the bottom up these tooth pick legs with spare tire middle. Doesn't seem to shrink a bit even when the scale goes down. uuugh!
I say go for the speed dating thing. I saw that on some sit com once can't remember what one though.
Anyway, I think that the dating thing if you let will always be one of those things you can find away to put off so might as well at least start practicing. ;o)

.....CONGRATS on that 10K Miranda!! I don't remember you telling us you were about to do that, but then again I've been so scatty lately that maybe you did...
I love pineapple, but don't usually buy it because a)I'll get tired of it before it's gone b)pricey and c)....well I have no c, lol... Sounds interesting with the lime flavor!
Go-Go-Go register for the speed date!!! There's no time like the present (as they say)....and tell us all about it after the weekend. Sounds terrifiyingly (sp??) fun ;-)

Well I had registered in the 10 K walking clinic at the running room and the end of the clinic and the race kind of snuck up on me, but I'm glad I did it!!
I remember that episode-- was it Carrie who went?? I don't really remember either, lol- but I do remember thinking it was a pretty cool way to meet guys. I have to laugh at the thought of doing it down here though-- chances are the ones I'd be talking to would be old foggies missing a few teeth, etc... I think I'm better off sticking to the 'bar' rountine, lol!!
And on that thought- good luck ;-)

...we discovered that yummy Ginger Sesame dressing about 2 months ago. It's also great in cold pasta salad or as a dip with baby carrots. My son's favorite recipe with it is:
"Asian" cole slaw tortilla pockets:
- microwave 1 - 2 handful of frozen broccoli florets to get them cozy warm
- cut ready to serve chicken breast strips into cubes and microwave them too
- add all the stuff into a large bowl and add angel hair cole slaw
- add the dressing (it should make the whole stuff moist)
- add red pepper flakes to taste
- mix
- fold whole wheat tortillas to pocket "cups" (that's how coffee filters used to be folded ages ago)
- fill the mix into the tortillas
That was one of the first things my son learned to cook by himself. :)
