QOTW - Improving Your Mood...

Recently there have been a few posts missing smiles, so how about we come together to think of things to help us flash our pearly whites with a bright smile?

Starting with...
Is there something that triggers your moods, be it positive or negative?

And...
What do you think most helps bring you out of a negative mood?

And...
If you need to 'relax' what's your favorite thing to do?

Is there something that triggers your moods, be it positive or negative? Goofy as it sounds, the state of my kitchen is the state of my life. When the kitchen is clean I'm generally happy and easy going, when it is trashed I get anxious. (I mean, trashed for a couple of days, not just messy from a meal. Sometimes on the weekend I'm too busy and the dishes stack up and I get very anxious about it.) Yesterday I spent 2 hours cleaning every surface, cupboard, drawer and nook. Today I felt really peaceful.

And...
What do you think most helps bring you out of a negative mood? Cleaning and sleep. I always clean when I'm in a bad mood and NOTHING compares to a nap in the middle of the afternoon.

And...
If you need to 'relax' what's your favorite thing to do? Write. I write long, meandering goofy stories that are too embarrassing to even show my hubby. I also write for a living, but knowing I have to go back and edit it, makes it harder to enjoy.

I think there are few things that can trigger my moods...and I have to say I really didn't think of the state of my house, but after reading Karen's post I did. I always feel so much better with a clean home! And often if the environment I'm in is loud it will launch a mood with me. Bad drivers can also alter my mood.

Getting away from whatever is bothering me. I think when you refocus your direction (even if you have to sabotage plans) it helps ease whatever negativity you are feeling. For example if I'm in a bad mood in the classroom and I go take a break, chances are I will return in 10mins in a better mood. Much better for everyone :-)

An evening at home (a clean one, lol) by myself!! Doing whatever....spending time on the computer, organizing a closet/paperwork, watching TV, taking a bath.

--- Nasty, unhelpful people that think they know everything put me in a mood. Happy people keep or make me happy.

And...
What do you think most helps bring you out of a negative mood?
--- Getting away from the nasty people or telling them off in a nice way. ;)

And...
If you need to 'relax' what's your favorite thing to do?
--- reading, playing with my cat, tv, working on a craft, sleeping, driving fast - what can i say I am a speed demon.

Dealing with unnecessary procedures/paperwork that just get in the way of progress and getting things done. Actually, any nonsense that gets in the way of getting things done.

SO helps bring me out of a negative mood. A break, change of scenery, can help relieve the frustration I feel sometimes.

Lighting candles and listening to jazz, spending some time out in the sun if it's nice or taking a hot shower with some Bath & Body Works stuff that smells good.

Very perceptive IG.

Is there something that triggers your moods, be it positive or negative? I hate to say this but lately my 12 and 13 year old daughters. Rolling of the eyes, muttering under their breath, heavy sighs. Feeling a lot of hostility from the lately.

And...
What do you think most helps bring you out of a negative mood? Watching a good movie, reading, and just leaving the situation.

And...
If you need to 'relax' what's your favorite thing to do? Read or sleep.

....funny you should ask....I was "chilling" a bottle of wine the other night, and forgot about it. Luckily I saw it the following day. Otherwise it could have been a disaster of wine and glass all over the freezer!

So, beer-sicle, or wine-sicle??

LOL~ not where I saw this QOTW going at all!!!
