I am about 5'1 160lbs and I have TMJ Temporal Mandibular Jaw Disorder, its translated as osteoperosis of the jaw and I get severe migraines when the pains come at me full force especially when I am doing ab crunches. I have cut out every kind of sugar out there and I have switched to eating whole wheat bread and maybe one maybe two slices a day NO more and still no change in my weight? I need to lose alot of weight in the upper portion of my body (my chest is too big for my body frame. And I will be turning the big 30 and as I understand it and the way my mom keeps torturing this foolish idea that a moment on the hips and lifetime on the hips mentality, I am worried that my chest (breasts are getting bigger not smaller)the more harder I push myself to lose weight. I don't do weights because I do not want to bulk up because not I can't fit into my blouses. So I have resorted to pilates and core training workouts its been bout 2 months and I can't seem to lose weight in the chest and abdomen section which is my absolute problems areas. Can I ever lose weight in the breast/back portion of my chest EVER??? I use to be about 125lbs. I am working on getting to 125lbs and staying there if possible. What types of excercises could I do to lose weight in the back/chest and mid abdomen section??? Any websites, magazines, or trainers out there that I could even pose this qeustion too?
I appreciate anyone's help or reply to my question. Thanks

The biggest misconception of weight lifting is that you will bulk up. YOu won't women are not built that way to bulk up unless you are trying to become a body builder, you won't by incorporating weightlifting.
I think pilates is great for toning, but you are going to need to incorporate some cardio into your workout in order to burn the fact, it doesn't burn any other way.
Weight lifting is a great way to sculpt your muscles, lean sculpted muscles are much sexier and sleeker...and there is fat burning associated with it.
I would try to do walking if you want the least amount of pain possible and maybe try resistance bands, they are relatively cheap ($8.00 for the reebok brand at target) and you just have to buy a different color to increase more resistance whereas continually upping weights is tough, unless you have a gym membership.
Here is some info on different things:

If you are doing just the beginner pilates it's comparable to active stretching. Not great for someone wanting to lose weight, so if you want the real benefits of it you have to do advanced pilates at a higher level.

Hey Scribette, welcome to the board!!
Hey Scribbette, welcome to the board! Dee and Miranda have given some wonderful advice- which you will find tonnes of at this board ;-)
I agree that adding cardio into your plan will help-- shake things up! Swimming and walking are great ways to start off. And yes- you can lose some excess breast. I use Leslie Sansone walking tapes (well if I'm honest I will be using them again- and sooner rather than later!). I have one of hers with resistance bands and found them fabulous in toning up my upper arms, and losing some breast. Check them out here: www.lesliesansone.com
Again, welcome to the board~
