Declare your independence

One of the news reporters was asking people in the crowd what they want to declare independence from. The answers were so varied- from taxes to illness.

So........

What are you declaring your independence from? What is holding you back from true freedom?

I am declaring my independence from fat (now to let the fat know)and negativity. These two things effect every aspect of my life and I am just not having it any more.

Have a wonderful day

Great question!

I guess I'd have to say, not sure I can put it in one simple word, but..

I'm declaring my independence from things I have no control over. I allow myself to get caught up in the actions other people take and allowing that to dictate how I feel; letting it ruin my day or how I respond to it. Because my in-laws are idiots I don't have to let that interfere with who I am and what I want to achieve. Just because they have pissed me off, let me down, and disrespected me and my family I don't have to console myself with food or walk around with a bad feelings over whatever situation is making me nuts at the moment.

This is truly a brilliant concept and question. I love it!

Today I am declaring independence from self-doubt. I think that is the over-riding negative in my life that really holds me back - in my personal life, in my current job and in careers that I might like to pursue. So, today, I am going to start making every effort to shift my thinking from "Who are you kidding? You can't do that!" to "At least try it - you might be surprised!"

Thanks again for a WONDERFUL question!

This is a gerat one Robyn...thanks for sharing it with us!

I am declaring my independence from the fair factor. I have been hearing myself say that's not fair or that wouldn't be fair too many times lately. Even tho my parents constantly said Life wasn't fair they sure did break their backs trying to make it be. I tend to keep track in my subconcious mind and that's terrible. I need to spend less time keeping score and more time living.

Humbly...

Oh very good one mel! I do the keeping score thing too and figure every one else does it too. Spend way too much time thinking about.

I am declaring my independence from the "I'll be happy when I'm thin" mentality.

Good Question!

I've declared independence from my past. I'm tired of reliving the same mistakes and feeling embarrassed about my old patterns. I've repented, apologized, made things right where I could and I'm ready to clean the slate and start making all new mistakes!
