New here and have a question

Hi, Everyone! I am 35 years old and have about 10-15 pounds to lose. I kept thinking that it was no big deal (although I am a little obsessed with dieting) until I got asked "When are you due?" I do yoga and the tredmill a few times a week. My question is has anyone heard of Cortidrene? I read on here about Cortislim and if ginger (I think that was her name) could let me know how Cortislim helped her stress level and whether they were huge pills, I would greatly appreciate it. I stopped taking Prozac a month ago and when I came across Cortidrene, it sounded like exactly what I needed but they are also trying to sell their product so I want to hear from other people whether it helped them. Were there any side effects and is it safe? I was taking Chromium Piccolinate (sp?) and that seemed to help and I liked that the pills were small and you only take one a day but after researching on the web, I didn't like some of what I read. I read good things about CLA but the pills are huge. That is how I came across Cortidrene. If anyone knows or has heard of anything, it would help before I buy some. I think you can only get it online and I wonder if that is safe, too. Thanks in advance for any info and I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Thanks so much, Miranda, for replying. I work so hard (or as hard as I can with three small kids) and when I don't see any progress, it is really easy to get down on myself. It isn't a lot of weight to lose but enough to make me hate looking in the mirror. I think I might have to do the research the old fashioned way. It is hard to know what to believe on the internet. The only thing I really trust is the word of others who have been taking it because I know they aren't trying to sell me anything.

Thanks again.

Okay, well I haven't found anything related to harmful effects or side effects of cortisol-based supplements including Cortislim, Cortidrene, and CortiCept.

Are you carrying most of the weight in your abdomen area? I would have your doctor run some other tests first, there are other medical conditions that can cause you to carry weight in that location especially for women over 30.

I tried both Relacore and Cortislim thinking that was my problem, but after reading the book the Yeast connection and talking with my doctor they diagnosed me with PCOS.

I am carrying most of my weight in my abdomen, though I get it in my boobs and face, too. With PCOS, what are the signs? I have about 10 pounds to lose and don't have excess body hair (in fact am fairly non-hairy except for my head, I have really thick hair). I do have regular painful periods so what do you think? A friend of mine had PCOS but was significantly overweight and had excessive body hair and barely got her period. Since I have been off of the antidepressant, I have felt really stressed and when I am stressed, I don't have the time or desire to watch what I eat so I know that is part of the problem, too. Are you on meds for PCOS? Are they helping?

Everyone on PCOS has different symptoms, some people get acne, some people get the irregular periods, some people are overweight, some people get the excess facial hair and loss of hair. I'm not saying you have it, I'm just saying talk to your doctor first, no sense in wasting money like me on pills that may not work if you have other things going on. Yes I'm on metformin and yes they are helping.

The yeast connection was good too, you should try to pick it up at your library, do you eat a lot of refined sugar, or white flour products, many people have trouble with them and don't even know it, leaving them bloated and tired.

Try an experiment, cut out all sugar and white flour products as well as any "high glycemic" carbs, so no fruit, breads, potatoes, corn, carrots, peas, anything with flour in it for one week. Eat only lean proteins, non-starchy veggies, low fat cheeses etc. if your belly loses its bloat you may have a yeast problem.

Hi, Sniffle Sally! Thanks for those links. I do eat a lot of refined sugar and white flour. I would love to do the experiment but I don't know if I can live without fruit. Lately, I am afraid to put anything in my mouth b/c somewhere some book or nutritionist has said it is bad for you. I am going to see my gyne next week. I'll ask her about PCOS. Thanks. Glad the meds are working for you.

One week. Committ to one week.

You can have fruit, you just would have to choose lower glycemic fruits.

like no watermelon or only occasionally and no bananas...more berries, apples etc.

Ok, I could totally do that. It is the berries I would have a hard time living without and I could do it for one week.
