QOTW: Mid-Year Resolutions . . .
| Mon, 07-25-2005 - 3:27pm |
WEll ladies, did you know we've had 206 days so far this year, and we've got 159 to go (or about there anyways!!)
Which means we're over half-way done this year!!
So, let's think waaaayyyy back to our New Year's Resolutions . . .
Do you remember what your New Year's Resolutions were?

First of all, here's a link to this year's resolutions posts:

No NY Resolution changes here as I didn't have any!
But I think 6 pounds of weight loss by the end of the year (out of 15 desired) is realistic...
Gidget
I wanted to get back to the gym-something I finally accomplished this month.

Well I have to admit I was not happy to see this post. My fist thought was "uuugh, I don't want to know ..." However, I was kind of surprised.
Health:
This is the toughest for me. I am going to continue with keeping a food/exercise journal. I'd like to find something I really enjoy doing in the exercise area. I think I'm going to buy a bike and see how that feels and maybe join the rec. center. I would like to try doing more/new things and see if I can find something that I really enjoy. Some of this will be weird for me, I'm kind of anti social or maybe it's shy or something and worry about looking like an idiot too much. lol
Also, I want have some type of routine. It's been so hard with a new baby on top of three other very busy children but I need to set time aside so I can work out period. I try to go with the flow but that just makes me crazy.
Going to really try to cut out the "bad" carbs starting 01/03/05. *sigh*
Well I did a few things. I kept my journal more than I didn't. I really did join the rec. center. I'm still struggling with the setting time aside but I am getting better. Also, I have quit drink soda. Well I've finally made the switch to 0 calorie soda. As well as doing mostly wheat breads and pastas. Still working on those darn fries.
Financial:
I wanted to save for our trip to San Diego. Which I wasn't as successful there as I wish I could have been. However, I did manage my money so it didn't cause any financial hardship.
Family:
Weird time for me I have a 17 that has one foot out of the door and 12
Here were mine.
1) Eat healthier and exercise regularly (which will ulitimately result in losing weight, I'm not even going to try to diet it doesn't work for me)
2) Make Master Sergent (which means I will need to get off my butt and study)
3) Self confidence
I am eating healther and exercising 5 days a week. I am losing weight.
I did make Master Sergeant
I do have more self confidence.
I really don't feel the need to make any new ones.
...the budget is out of control. I had one organized and written out once in my life. I need to get one in black and white again, and legitimately pay down the debt. Having some money budget for investments for the future would be great too.
As far as my fitness goals, I plan to start something new this year; I've been looking into running. I think that may be it. I would love to take dance, but the cost and scheduling would be a problem. I do need to work on flexibility. It will improve my kicks a great deal, and I will continue to train in hap ki do, as long as I stay injury free, and hope to be preparing to test or have tested for black belt by this time next year.

Lorie, that money and budgeting thing can be tough.
Do you remember what your New Year's Resolutions were? Have you met them?
I don't make New Year's Resolutions. I start moving on a new plan as soon as I have the urge.
What would you like to accomplish by the end of the year? Is it different from what you thought in January?
Things are much different than they were in January. I wanted to be thin and healthy, now I'm just trying to understand and appreciate my relationship with food. I'm not looking to the outcome I want as much as I'm looking inside to see what my motivation is.
Why did your resolutions change (if they did??)
I've spent a lot of time in church praying for help and direction in many areas of my life, food being one of them. I think my focus has changed as a result of that.
Karen
Like some of the others I cringed when I saw this QOTW Miranda, lol!!
