For those of you drinking 60 + oz. of water a day. Is it just me or do you spend way more time in the bathroom than seems normal?

Don't let me use this as excuse. If you feel real crappy during AF, crampy mostly, will exercise really help or is curling up in bed better?

Finally, Strip Areobics??? Are they serious??? How popular can this be??? Anyone participate???

Gretchen, if you build up gradually, your body will adjust. If you go from drinking 30 oz to 60 oz, your bladder is going to feel it.

I agree with Miranda on this one! And you know once you open the 'door' so to speak you just have to keep on going, and going, and going, lol!

For me I don't tend to suffer too much physically from AF, some months are a breeze and then others--- stay away!! When I have a rough month I do tend to take it a little easier that week.

LOL- to Miranda's post (and article). I saw an Oprah once where she had one of the instructors of this 'out of the box' workout, and it actually looked quite good. However I think you'd have to be quite limber to work your body around those poles, and strong enough to hold yourself up for some of the moves too! Not for me!! (For those interested in learning more I know there is a board for it here in iVillage.)

I do spend more time in the bathroom, but drink lots and lots of water, but once I start it goes and goes and goes.

Since I start exercising on a regular basis, AF is not as bad, nothing that a little motrin won't cure.

It does not interest me at all. But each to thier own.

Don't let me use this as excuse. If you feel real crappy during AF, crampy mostly, will exercise really help or is curling up in bed better? --- Depends how crappy.

Finally, Strip Areobics??? Are they serious??? How popular can this be??? Anyone participate??? --- haven't tried it. Teri Hatcher did a bit on Oprah a while back. It was kind of funny.

I have learned that I needed to invest in two good pairs of track shoes. One pair is for the gym and one pair is for work. I make it my business to never walk pass an empty bathroom without leaving a deposit. I will say that the more water I drink the firmer my thighs have become.

I just have to respond to the period exercise connection, and here is what works for me. Things can go one of two ways, and they are both extreme. Either there will be MAJOR pms, or, just the opposite, I will be super energized, with all this sexual energy, etc.. Never anything in the middle. Finally, after tracking results, and painfully looking for a cure, here is what I have come up with.

I have a 28 day cycle, and here what works for me

Starting Day 20

1 Very Important
It is important NOT to slack off on the exercise regimen during this time.
Exercise at for six days out of the week, varying between weights/intense running to avoid over exertion
The exercise will contra indicate the fatigue that is going to come.

2 Supplementation
- Additionally, don’t slack off taking vitamins
-Start taking 2000mgs of an EFA blend that has all the oils in it.
(borage oil, evening primose, flax, CLA)
During non pms times, its ok to take cheaper oils, like fish and flax alone

-Diet pills during this week to thwart cravings.

-Fiber is really key, especially at day 25 and 26

Extras but not necessary, B-complex, and vitamin C ( since immune system dips during this time)

3 Diet Changes
Start drinking decaffeinated coffee
Limit alcoholic beverages to one a day, if any

4 Very Important to counteract bloat and keep skin glowing during this times of progestin drop
drink ( 2) 64 ounces of water.
Elimination of toxins keeps energy levels up
Do YOGA routine in sauna suit to counter act this bloat.
Flowing Yoga routines, work EVERY muscle in the body, and helps even out hormones.
Do this day Day 25 or or Day 26.

30 minute exercise minimum,

When I actually adhere to this, I sail through my periods. If I dont start doing this day 20, and my period just comes, I am tortured, fatigued, etc... The yoga in the sauna suit is my replacement for Bikram yoga, which is awesome, but the one in my area, the instructors are real jerks.
