Hey guys,
I thought I was doing oh so well, even though I gave up weight training. I found a love for running, which was an instant emotional boost, however, I know that it can lead to muscle atrophy.
Well, recently, I became injured. And I was horrified at how fast I put on the pounds. I still can not run, but instead, I've decided to do some toning.
Weight lifting is so not fun for me. I am sore, for what seems for ever. I am tired and achy all the time, and I just dont get the same boost as I do from cardio. But because I've gotten fatter, I am doing it anyway. I am utterly tortured.
Have you guys heard of the Nitric Oxide based supplements?
Basically, they say, they help you speed up the toning process by a process called "hemodilation" . Increased hemodilation is supposed to aid in circulation by helping your body to transport oxygen, leading to increase blood flow and deliver nutrients to skeletal muscle.
They say the results are
Continuous Muscle Pump
Signals Muscle Growth - Speeds Recovery
Increases Strength, Stamina
The GNC brand is called "Ammunition" a whopping $75!!!!!
Anyone have any experience with this??
I hate lifting weights, but I know toning is necessary, but the process is TORTURE.

If you find weights so torturous have you tried working with resistance bands? I used them with one of Leslie Sansone's walks and I swear my arms took on a whole new look with them! There's a lot of them out there in the market, and I'm sure your gym has them too. Look into them- they are easier to use than weights, but just as effective!
-sorry haven't heard of the supplements!
Moderation IS Key

Hey Sediqua, sorry to hear you're dealing with injuries right now and are off running.
Thanks for your advice!! I do have bands, but to be honest with you, I don't know how to use them. I will take your advice and get a fitness video to guide me.
As for the supplements, related to building muscle, I guess I will just stick to protein shakes, and L-Glutamine, which is already well documented for muscle recovery, and leave it at that.
If for some reason, in a moment of weakness, I am feeling fat, and plop down the big bucks, I will let you know if it works for me, or not.
thanks again!!!
Hi sediqua,
I don't know anything about the supplement, but might I suggest something else? What is your diet like? Something you need to make sure of is that you have enough carbohydrates in you before you begin your strength workout. Your muscles receive their immediate fuel from their stores of glycogen(carbohydrate), but lifting weights will deplete those stores pretty quickly, and that will cause you to run out of energy and feel tired. Your body can convert fat or protein into energy, but not as quickly as your muscles require them during a workout. I'd suggest at least having one serving of carbohydrate with a little bit of protein before every workout, and see if that doesn't help
