Hi there,
I just turned 36 in July. I also lost 20 pounds from January to May this year but after May the pounds are starting to creep back on. I still feel good but I don't want to get too lazy and then find out I am back where I started from. I also used to teach aerobics for the last ten years and because of a variety of reasons I have stopped teaching as well as working out for myself. I have a cupboard full of aerobic tapes that I actually like but I just don't have the motivation to put them on. I find once they are on I am into it in fact I sometimes do more tapes. But since I am out of the routine I am lathargic when it comes to working out. I don't eat nearly as bad as I used to but I still find myself eating things I know I shouldn't hence the weight gain. Any suggestions as to how I can get back on track would be appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome to the board Supercomic!
These ladies are wonderful for offering support, and motivation- but I do understand the not having the motivation to put those tapes on. We all know the benefits of regular exercise, so why is it so hard when we're in a slump to actually do it? Hm.......
I did do a search because I know motivation is something that we like to discuss ;-)
Here are some of the discussions we've had lately-
This is an article about it that CL Miranda posted this week: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbfitthirty/?msg=9767.1
Here's a post on what motivates us: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbfitthirty/?msg=9227.1
This is one of our QOTW (question of the week) discussions on motivation from the board: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbfitthirty/?msg=8838.1
And lastly here's a funky motivation idea: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbfitthirty/?msg=8777.1
Hope they help somewhat....sometimes reading what motivates others spurs you on just enough to get going!

Hey Jodie!!
Hi Truewild,
I know what you mean by the age thing and the worst part is the weight is so sneaky, when you look in the mirror you still see yourself as 25 but the world sees your body 20 pounds heavier. As far as diet drinks go. I have heard that water is always best but if you are going to induldge in a diet drink have it with your meals instead of inbetween. I hope that helps somewhat.

Welcome to the board Jodie! Miranda's right about diet soda being at least better than regular soda...but the best tip we all know of is, drink water instead ;-)
Looking forward to posting with you-
