September - New Beginnings?

You know as we edge closer and closer to September, I realize that even though I've been out of school for ages, I still kind of feel that September is the beginning of a new year.

"How about you? Any plans for a new start in September? What would you really like to focus on this fall?"

September means 3 months before I get to ski again! Must get serious about my conditioning ...

Of course I see September as a new beginning. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year, lol!! I do vow to hop back on the exercise wagon in September. I may just need a little time to adjust to this 'schedule' that school brings with it!!

I always feel like September is the beginning of something. I really miss the back to school planning & I find myself wanting to buy new pens or planners or something. I have wandered through the office supply store twice in hte last few weeks!

My goal this fall is to keep consistant with going to the gym & eating right. I'd really love to not have a new years goal of losing weight.

Since I never participated in a challenge I can't say what I find helpful but I do think that just having this board is helpful. Its nice to know that there are others that are also celebrating my successes & helping me find a way around my obstacles.

Funny you should ask!
This is the beginning of the Year of Karen.
My youngest is starting kindergarten for 3 hours a day. I have dedicated this year to taking care of myself. Using my 3 hours to read or walk or whatever I need to do to focus myself. I have started getting serious with kickboxing and walking a 5 mile loop around my house on weekends. Now I can walk a few days a week as I won't have kids to slow me down or whine at me while I'm out. I have also signed up to walk the Breast Cancer Walk in October.
This is going to be a fantastic year.

I agree with the love hate feeling for this time of year. Kids are more occupied but we have this few weeks of mayhem where we get everybody's routine sorted out and usually neglect myself till the dust settles.

However, I really really want to get rid of this fat stomach left over from my 2 year old. Who coincidentally turns two officially tomorrow. I kind of regrouped, gave myself a kick in the butt, 2 weeks ago, I think. I would like to fit into some of my smaller clothes by Nov. 15. Totally vain, I just want to look good and feel good about how I look when we go to San Francisco. I'm trying not to get discouraged but haven't seen any great results yet.

So my plan is to try to bump up my physical activity. I started adding running to my walking time. I'm trying to walk when doing my errands instead of driving. Trying to eliminate some of the crap from my diet. Made it a whole week with out fast food so far. I'm just feeling like nothing I'm doing is going to work.

I think all of our challenges are great and am very thankful for yours and IG's creativeness and motivation.

I agree that fall can be a time of new beginnings and challenges.

I just finished Anatomy & Phisology I (i can't spell it).

I had my last lab final last night & the teacher gave back the lecture exam from Monday - the class average was 40 -- yes out of 100. I got 46 so it looks like with the grade curve i may just pass. It is in the god's hands now. ;)

I need this class for Theraputic Recreation. The Certification agency just changed the requirement from Human Bio to A&P I. Human bio is really easy.
