Having some trouble

Well, I haven't been on here much lately, and I haven't fallen off the wagon or anything like that. But I haven't felt good at all lately, and I am having alot of trouble with my joints, especially my ankles. I went to the doctor last week, and she is running some blood work, had some x-rays done, and I go back to her Thursday morning to find out the results. But it is quite depressing. I was doing so well with my exercise and last week it dropped down to 3 times and I couldn't do the jog part at all. Last night, I did a different dvd - a pilates one that I didn't have to put pressure on my ankles, so at least it was something, but I was on such a roll!!!! Anyway, I suppose I just wanted to vent a little. Hopefully, this will go away soon.

I'm so sorry to hear you've not been feeling well. It is so frustrating when you can't move forward with your plan. Just remember this is beyond your control and your body is telling you to slow down. Just keep doing what your able to do. You'll know more Thursday and can come up with a plan from there.

Sorry to hear that Christie! Hopefully you'll be able to work something out from the results you get on Thursday. I know it can be frustrating to be stopped in the middle of something that is working for you, but as Gretchen says-- this is something beyond your control. Hang in there, and know we're thinking of you!

Well, all of the tests came back negative, so now I have to call and make an appt with a rheumatologist. I'll keep you posted. I have been doing a pilates crunch dvd though, so I have at least been doing some exercise. And, the doctor's scale showed me down 2 pounds since last week, although my scale at home doesn't show any difference. I'll still take it! :o)

Christie, coming in late to say I hope you are feeling better.

We've talked about this alot in our house in relation to starting or ramping up

I know what you're talking about. Since going back to work (Teacher), my left ankle is killing me. I stand on it all day, then go to the gym. Sometimes, I get a sudden shot of pain, and stumble a little because it wants to give out on me. I broke it when I was nine, and the doctors claim there's little I can do except to strengthen the ankle with exercises. I soak it a lot lately in hot water with epson (spelling?) salts.

The exercises are weird. You pretend there's a pencil between your big toe and ... whatever you call the next toe thereafter... and write the alphabet. You have to rest your heel on a table, and move only the ankle to do this. I don't know if it'll work, or if Kaiser has gone cheap (hasn't it always been? oh well), but I'm feeling a little better after a few days.

Guess I just wanted to say I know how you feel. :)
