The Biggest Loser Train!

So Biggest Loser starts up again on Tuesday just in time for me to jump back on the train with my own eating habits. I'm going back on south beach after I fell off miserably and have slept and bummed out the remainder of the month of august. So I'm back on track starting tommorow, I cleared my house of any sugar. LOL

Anyhow, so is everyone going to watch this time around? It really was very inspiring last year. I'll probably keep this post going every wednesday to see if people are watching.

Week 7 Recap:

So this week they restructered the teams. They are going to all be paired. Mark in his usual A-hole and non-compassionate self referred to the women as scums or some other derogatory comment because they voted off Jen and how he didn't want to be paired with any of them. It was pretty rude and I wasn't too fond of him at that moment. Shannon cried stood up for the women saying that the men aren't compassionate at all that everyone is in this game for the same reason and that everyone should be cheering everyone else on not tearing them down which I wholeheartedly agree.

Pete gets the dubious honor of picking the teams. He asks each of them who they would like to be paired with before he goes off on his own to pick the teams.

He chooses Matt and Shannon, Mark and Andrea, Seth and Suzy and he chose Dr. Jeff for himself.

They let Jillian and Bob know and they are shocked so workouts are just one big free for all with trainers training whomever says "me".

Then on to the challenge. THere are buckets at one end attached to a cable. One team member is holding the cable and the other team member has to go down to the ocean and bring back water to fill up opponents buckets, whomevers bucket hits the ground or they let go of the cable, loses. The last team "standing" wins a trip to Hawaii and exemption from elimination. The weigh in will consist of combined weight of the team members and whomever has the least amount of %age of weight loss and goes below the yellow line they are on the chopping block and 1 of the team members gets voted off by the other team.

Pete goes first...then Mark....then Matt and Seth and Suzy win.

When they get back to the house, Matt finds out that his dad's brother died of a heart attack, he talks to Jillian and says that everyone wants him to stay and keep working hard because he is doing something to better himself. He's pretty emotional. As was I since my friends father died just last week of the same thing. Very sad.

So on to weigh in.

Matt and Shannon lose the most, she lost 6 lbs and he lost 17 he says a little speech about his uncle and he was just thrilled since last week he had lost none.

Pete and Dr. Jeff are the lowest %age lost. Jeff starts asking people to vote for him to leave because he thinks Pete deserves to stay and he's ready to go.

Elimination time. Shannon and Matt vote for Pete, Suzy and Seth vote for Jeff and Mark and Andrea have the deciding vote and they vote off Pete. Pete is so gracious, hugs everyone. Dr. Jeff is very upset.

Pete calls his wife on the cell phone outside their house, tells her he'll be flying in the next day, and she's telling him how she can't wait to see him and he's standing right behind her and says Me too! and she just loses it, bawls her eyes out, it was so awesome to see these two so in love. Let me tell you, PETE LOOKS AWESOME. When he left the ranch he was down 83 lbs, when they did their check in with him, he had lost another 54 lbs on his own for a total of 137 lbs and not only that he got his wife in the game and she lost 50 lbs as well. HE LOOKS AMAZING!!!! I was bawling it was so great to see him look so slim and it was even more touching that he said he and his wife have now conquered the weight issue and health and now they were ready to have babies. It was so darn sweet.

Thanks for the recap Dee- I missed it last night, and apparently a really good one too. Glad to hear that Pete went on to do so well afterwards, and his wife too :-)

I was glad everything went so well last night. Had my doubts but now seems like the show is on the right track. Quite frankly loved to see nasty Mark bawling his eyes out over every little thing this week. Glad Andrea was big enough to step up and set a good example of how they should treat every one and supported his emotional highs and lows. Think the men were totally clueless about the women and believed what they wanted to believe about them. However, I think Mark was the only "really" nasty one. I'm sure that stemmed from his own insecurities more than anything.

And WOW, way to go Pete!!! He looked great. His wife was so right he ended up looking so much younger and I expect it won't be long before she's pregnant. Be like having a new husband and/or wife they both looked fabulous.

Was it mean or did Bob seem a lot tougher this week?

Do some of the spinning bikes not have seats so they have to stand? Looked kind of dangerous if they slipped or something, ouch!

I think maybe the men didn't respect Bob because the women lose less, but it's really more about genetics and such why women don't lose as much as the men as well as who knows some could be having their period it's not something they are going to discuss on there but they've been there for awhile they had to have had pms and periods while they were there. SO I think Bob stepped it up a little more for the men to show them that it's not the "exercising" thats the problem. Women are just built differently.

Mark and Nick were the only mean ones although Matt had that initial mean streak when they were all yelling at Ruben in the first episode but he's mellowed.

I was glad Mark broke down when he called the women "dirtbags" I really wanted to punch him.

Man, I should turn into that one part, when they show how much they've lost AFTER they got booted. I can't believe that, Pete AND his wife did great. Thanks for the recap Dee. I can't watch it, but it's inspiring nonetheless reading about it. :) I just wish it was us. lol

Here is the pudding in the cloud recipe that Bob gave them. Obviously you would use skim milk fat free coolwhip and fat free or sugar free jello pudding mix.

2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

2 cups cold milk

1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling

SPOON whipped topping evenly into 6 dessert dishes. Using back of spoon, spread whipped topping onto bottom and up side of each dish.

POUR milk into medium bowl. Add dry pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes or until well blended. Let stand 5 minutes. Spoon pudding into center of whipped topping in each dish.

SERVE immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. Store leftover desserts in refrigerator.

Week 8 Recap:

Today started off good with some pool exercises. Then it was off to the salon for a makeover, everyone did a good job and they looked gorgeous, the three women are going to be featured on Prevention Magazine.

Then off to the "task" Each team had a person from their family/friends/people back home in a buggy, Andrea - her husband, Mark - his wife, Stacey - her sister, Seth - his wife, Jeff - his daughter, Shannon - her daughter and Matt - his father.

They had to ride bikes tugging their guest + any weight that was added to them to equal what they weighed when they came in. The winner gets immunity from elmination and also to spend the evening with the guest that came to visit.

Matt and Seth were neck and neck but ultimately Seth won (so Suzy won as well). Shannon was really struggling, so Matt rode his bike back, had her and her daughter jump in the back so they could spend time together and he drove them to the finish line. I cried, it was the sweetest thing, Matt tries to be such a hardass but he is SUCH a great man and such a kindhearted person, I thought it was the sweetest thing for him to do.

One thing that kind of irritated me was Andrea's husband, he told her "We need you at home" I thought that was totally inconsiderate, he wasn't at all supportive, sounded quite selfish, probably because he has the responsibility for everything she probably single handedly did. What a jerk.

The rest of the guests went home and Suzy and Seth were able to spend some quality time with their guests.

Time for the weigh in, since Jeff has no partner if he falls below the yellow line he's automatically eliminated.
Seth and Suzy weigh in first, she loses 2 lbs and he loses 4 I believe can't remember, then Jeff, he loses 10 lbs, then shannon and Matt, they lose a combined 12 I believe and then Mark and Andrea, they lose 3 lbs total so they end up falling below the yellow line. Andrea tells everyone not to chose her as the one to stay because she was the least threat, choose who they feel needs to stay.

Elimination round, Jeff votes first. Andrea. Seth and Suzy vote for Mark because they see him as a bigger threat and Matt and Shannon couldn't decide, it was really painful for Matt to eliminate someone, he was crying, in fact practically bawling and they eliminated Mark, Mark was probably the best sport I've seen him at all, underneath all that trash talking and chest thumping lies a really compassionate man, he cried, told Matt not to worry about it they would still be friends on the outside etc.

He walked away from the game having lost 87 lbs, a huge accomplishment, he then goes home and loses another 43 for a total of 130. The guy looks friggin AMAZING...A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!

It's obvious that these people really took a lot away from this experience to be able to continue on without going back to their old ways (well except Nick of course the spoiled sport).

All in all it was a really great show tonight, finally no backbiting...two weeks of great shows again. FINALLY!

I so agree! I'm enjoying the show so much more that they are all getting along now.

I missed what Andrea was saying about her husband. She said it was a great high just seeing him then missed the rest. Did she comment about his attitude?

Just when Matt begins to irritate me with his over emotional out bursts he does something like turn around and go back for Shannon. I really give him credit for realizing everything is not about him.

Think Mark was ready to go home, obviously. Again another fabulous success story. Glad he got off his nasty kick because he was getting hard to like. Plus, if Andrea's husband is being self centered and not liking her being away and stuff she needs to be strong when she goes home. Very hard to maintain what she's done if her husband is going to be undermining her. I know I would have felt guilty leaving my kids and doing something for myself I wouldn't need husbands help in making me feel worse.

Is it my imagination or are these people doing better than last years?
