QOTW- Exercise Weakness'

We've all done it- had an excuse not to workout......why do we do that to ourselves, when deep down we know all the benefits of how good it will make us feel?

1. What's the number one excuse you use when you don't feel/want to exercise?

2. Is there a particular form of exercise that has gotten you hooked, either recently or in the past?

3. Do you like to schedule when you will exercise throughout the week, or are you a 'whenever' you can kinda gal?

I never want to exercise but my biggest problem is lack of time. There are only so many hours in a day & too much to do. Something has to give & its usually my sleep.

2. Is there a particular form of exercise that has gotten you hooked, either recently or in the past?

Nothing other than yoga. I don't really see that as exercise though, its more like relaxation & stress relief.

3. Do you like to schedule when you will exercise throughout the week, or are you a 'whenever' you can kinda gal?

I try to schedule it but things happen. It easier to stick to walking with my mom than going to the gym every day.

1. What's the number one excuse you use when you don't feel/want to exercise? Me too, time. It's like I have to make a choice between keeping up with the house and the kids or working out. I could spend every evening with some sort of family or house hold responsibility till bed time and still have more to do. The clincher is I'd like to relax a little too. Just 30 minutes or an hour is all.

2. Is there a particular form of exercise that has gotten you hooked, either recently or in the past? I like yoga and I think I could get into running. Not because I like it particularly it's that I feel like I could accomplish something. Train for a 5K maybe eventually a marathon or something. This would be something I would think I could never do but if I did I can't imagine the boost it would give my self-esteem to have actually worked for something and accomplished it.

3. Do you like to schedule when you will exercise throughout the week, or are you a 'whenever' you can kinda gal? I would prefer a schedule but usually have to work with everyone else's routines.

Hi there,

My main excuse is that I am tired or that I don't have time with my kids around. However, I found a great way to fit in a good workout in little time. I joined Curves. On my way home, I go to Curves, detox from my day, get a good work out and then I pick up my babies. I absolutely love it.

In addition I do my elliptical during my favorite shows "survivor" and the biggest loser. It is great motivation and distraction.

I love to excercise. Eating is my weakness.

1. What's the number one excuse you use when you don't feel/want to exercise? I'm a creature of habit, so I usually do exercise eventually, even if I don't feel like it when I get home. The times recently when I haven't exercised have been during the move. I was so busy and stressed. It might have been good had I taken the time to workout, but I used excused it by thinking unpacking would suffice as exercise.

2. Is there a particular form of exercise that has gotten you hooked, either recently or in the past? I am so happy to be in HKD. It's a good workout, especially lately - the black belt has really been changing things up so we get a lot of cardio work plus work on our techniques and forms. I like to go to see my friends, and it's so good for my mindset. It makes me focus, relieves stress and helps me to see that I can do things I never thought I could do.

3. Do you like to schedule when you will exercise throughout the week, or are you a 'whenever' you can kinda gal? My schedule is pretty much set. I'm an evening, right after work, person. When, on the rare occasion, I have to do a workout in the morning because of an evenig meeting or something, it is so difficult to get up and do it.

You know Ann I was looking at SELF yesterday and found that some types of Yoga burn off more calories than you might think- so although you may not see it as exercise it certainly is :-)

Walking (3mph; flat ground) 30 minutes: 106 calories

I agree Miranda- sometimes having a schedule written down for me to follow is easier, or at least it really makes me aware of how much I'm NOT exercising!!
