What kind of candy or treats do you hand out?

Mini chocolate bars - mixed variety.

Do you dump the contents of the bowl into the last kid at the door?

Yep.

Do you save your favorite candy to hand out last (so you have GOOD leftovers)?

Nope, but I will eat one or two while I'm passing out candy.

Do you ration the leftovers over the next little while (one or two per day)??

Nope. I give it all away to the kids or bring it to work the next day.

I really don't get trick or treaters, or I didn't, where I lived. I'm in a new place, so we'll see. We do the downtown thing here at the office - the fall festival where they close the street and have activities and all the businesses pass out candy. We get a bunch of stuff, the bags of "good" chocolate mini bars, suckers, the Smarties and other really sugary candy, a variety of stuff.

We usually run out before the event ends, but that's because of those who are circulating for the second or third time.

Oh yes we do. And we sneak some of it before the event, or stash some for after.

We used to do that when I lived at home and passed out candy, after I was too old to trick or treat.

Like Lorie, I don't have any trick or treaters stop by here. And anyway, my front door is at the back of the house. Landlord will get any if there are any around!!

Do you dump the contents of the bowl into the last kid at the door?
I probably would if I had too ;-)

Do you save your favorite candy to hand out last (so you have GOOD leftovers)?
Again, I probably would, lol!!

Um.....not all that good at rationing, anytime of year {blush}

I have friends that keep their candy all year long. LITERALLY. What an awful tease. The last kids definetly gets all the leftovers. I have a four and seven year old. So far.....each consecutive day I throw out a handful of candy. Each day the pile gets smaller. People may think that is awful because of the waste but I dont want to deprive my children by saying only three homes to go to. And I dont want my kids eating candy for four months. And I can put down some candy. Really. Ten different little candys in a row all day. Eventually I get sick and toss them. I find it necesary to take control over these type of situations otherwise they take control of me. Then I am sitting in a pile of wrappers with a belly ache feeling four years old. It is a good example for the kids to see too. I am sure there is a place to donate some of the candy. Some dentists let you turn them in for something.

Hey ladies, next Monday is Halloween. Now I like the little mini mars bars as much as the next person, but how do you deal with all the leftovers??

***I doubt I'll even hand out candy, last year I bought a bunch of bags that I ended up taking to work because I got no trick o treaters

What kind of candy or treats do you hand out?

***Normally nerds, and chocolate bars

Do you dump the contents of the bowl into the last kid at the door?

***How will I know he's the last kid??

Do you save your favorite candy to hand out last (so you have GOOD leftovers)?

***Of course, I will get rid of the butterfingers that came in the variety pack first over the twix. LOL

Do you ration the leftovers over the next little while (one or two per day)??

***No I bring them to work for everyone else to eat

Excellent point!! LOL

I guess once it's 9:00 or 9:30 I figure it's just teens out there and quite frankly, a dime store mask and a pillow case and you're buddies driving you around in their car don't cut it for me - you're not halloweening, you're begging for food.

I say very, very sadly that we get no trick-or-treaters here on the farm.
