I did it - I hired a nutritionist

I found a registered nutritionist locally who comes to your house & goes through your kitchen. She is $65 an hour - the standard rate around here. She was very nice & personable on the phone & I like the fact that she answered all my questions & seemed able & willing to tailor a plan based on how I live.

I think I'll just have her do the one visit but we might need her to come back. DH told me not to let her throw any of his "snacks" out & to just tell her that all the junk was his. The funny thing is that he gained some weight too so he's in the same boat I am.

Ann- that really does sound like an excellent thing to do! It actually sounds exciting :-)

You'll have to let us know how it all goes, and pass along any tips she has!!

Good Luck-

She's coming in two weeks & I will definatley take notes & share what I learn.

DH has so much sugar free crap that I don't eat. He thinks that its "free" from calories too but it really isn't. He said that he could probably go through our kitchen & do the same thing the nutritionist is going to do, to which I replied, but you don't & we buy tons of junk food - mostly for him. He doesn't really care about spending the $ cause its cheaper than other options. Hopefully I'll get some good tips & be able to eat healthier.
