I cut this out of this month's Fitness magazine, I'm taping it to my treadmill to do every morning. Follow the instructions and MPH/Incline rate for each "minute" setting.
First is minutes, followed by MPH and finally incline on machine. They tend to group together even if I try to put them in columns so I put backslashes to differentiate between the columns. Also check out tread20.com for other suggestions.
MINUTES// MPH// INCLINE
00:00-3:00// 3.0// 1
3:00-3:30// 3.5// 2
3:30-4:00// 3.5// 4
4:00-4:30// 3.5// 6
4:30-5:00// 3.5// 7

I'm starting tomorrow, I'll pop in and tell you how out of shape and out of breath I am after this particular jaunt.

I have to say I'm very impressed with Fitness magazine for having workouts in like this one. I'm an avid Shape magazine reader, however, at my gym I've picked up a couple of Fitness magazines (we leave magazines there for people to look through) and I got quite a few workout plans out of them. I also got a weekly plan that seems quite reasonable to do. Shape magazine has plans as well, but I find you have to more of an intermediate to advance exerciser to even do the workout. I still like Shape but I have been looking at other magazines as well.
This workout looks great! I have been hooked on the ellipical trainer at the gym, and have been going nuts on it. I really works everything!!! I have a treadmill at home and I think I'll fit in the 20 minute butt blaster one you posted before. That's an area that needs work:)

Thanks. I really love Fitness. It really isn't just for advanced fitness buffs it's for everyone and it's why I tend to like it better than shape or self magazine.
The two treadmill workouts are the ones I liked best. But the one i use most often is the "walking one" (rather than this running one because truth be known I cannot run quite yet I'm just not good at it) so the 4mph is really all I can do, but I'll tell ya the upping the incline up and down isn't that hard to coordinate as some might think and it really WORKS YOU OUT! I am sweating and it gives you a great workout.

Deirdre
