Weight Fluctuations

Okay, I know weight fluctuations are normal, but wow! I guess, for the most part, I may fluctuate around TOM, but I'm over a week away, and remember last week, I was down to 144. Well this morning, I was back up to 147. Do you think it's because I didn't run last night? Can not exercising for one day, truly bump my weight up that much?
I guess, I just hate seeing it go down to 144, and then back up to 147. Will it go down and STAY down please. lol.
thoughts?

Hey Cher, it could be that you ate a lot of sodium heavy things yesterday, didn't drink enough, drank too much, stood on the scale a bit differently, or a million other things.
1 pound of weight is equal to 3,500 calories, so I highly doubt that you took in 10,500 more calories than you burned last week.
A good rule of thumb is to (a) only weigh once a week, and (b) if there is a fluctuation, see if the needle remains at that point the following week - I never count a weight loss or gain unless it is the same two weeks in a row.
So in short, don't sweat it!
Well, I did eat a lot of popcorn. It may not have a lot of butter, but I know there's salt on it. lol. And I had fries too. And a burger for lunch. Huh. Never thought about it being sodium, and you guessed it, not enough water.
I guess, I don't ever think about those things when it comes to weighing in (and this was my once a week), but I'll do what you did. It doesn't TRULY count unless the next week is the same (or more/less depending which way I'm going). I think I'll try to drink more today then. Flush out my system a bit more. :)
What else can affect overnight weight gain? Anyone? this will help for the NEXT time i freak out. lol
I too fluctuate around TOM time, and to be honest I seem to only really lose the week after my period! Plus I think drinking water REALLY helps with losing weight, with watching your diet AND exercise AND (enough) water you get on a losing streak!
So- cheers :-)
Happy November!

I'm to the point that a lot of the reasons I see fluctions and/or that stupid needle not wanting to make it's way down are the foods I choose to eat. Even if I keep my calories in a certain range I'm stuck. I'm really going to have to make a conscience effort to eat lower fat and carb diet. I think?? I've worked on the carbs but my fat in take seems to get higher and higher.
Cher Cher Cher
Come on now you know you aren't suppose to weigh yourself everyday and during your period week you shouldn't weigh yourself at all. You can gain up to 5 lbs during your period and lose it just as quickly after you are done.
If you must, weigh yourself once a week. Say every Sunday morning.
But that was it, it HAS been a week. Since last Thursday, that's why it was so depressing. lol. However, I"m just going to go with it, and leave it be. lol. Why? Because if I dwell on it, I wont want to work out cuz I'll just get depressed. :( Dont want that, now do we!!
But yes, I will try to stay off the scale.
Oh I thought you were weighing everyday my bad.
But if it's the week with your period in it, it's not unusual to "gain" during that time. I used to gain 5 lbs every time I was having my period between retaining water, and if you eat a lot of sodium you will retain even more.
I say don't even weigh the week of your period, wait until the week after it's all done. lol
