Hi. On November 27th there will be a competence (only one day for 1 hr and 30 minutes) of Aerobics for Beginners at some shopping mall in the city. The championship is sponsered by a supermarket that has been given out free aerobics classes for the past 1 yr and a half at some supermarkets across the city from the same market chain. I have been attending these aerobic classes since they started to give it in the supermarket just 2 blocks from my house. The aerobic classes are just given once a week, on Sundays for 1 hour and I have been doing these classes since almost the beginning, almost one year ago. During the week I really cant work out or exercise because close to where I live there are no gym around and since I dont have a car, it is kind of difficult for me to go to a gym not close to my house, that is why I dont go to gyms (never gone before in my life). Also because the during the time I have worked, no time either to work out and no transportation to go back and forth to gyms after work. That is why I decided to work out on my own at home doing video tapes and TV exercises shows. Many years ago, more than 4, I did these exercises at home from Monday to Friday 30 minutes, then for circumstances, I stop doing it that frequently and end up doing it only 2 times a day the same amount of time, then I end up doing it only once a week, like I have been doing now once a week on Sundays free aerobics, 1 hour.
Like 2 months ago, Im going to a gym with a friend (she picks me up and drop me off at home) I met during Sunday´s class. But we only go Mondays or Wednesday, the only days this friend can attend the gym, we are not members of the gym, we pay for each class we attend at the end of the class, and there are Mondays or Wednesdays we dont go, so it is not a constant thing to go to the gym either, but when we both can, we go to the gym either Monday or Wednesdays for one hour to do aerobics classes. So it is not that I have discipline to exercise or work out, I work out only when I can and if I have the means to do it, im not a regular to any gym. That is why I havent achieved my goal of toning or firming up my body.
Going back to the competence, I kind of want to participate in this championship of Aerobics, becaues it is not for advance it is for beginners. But I dont know if Im ready to participate and my body is ready, I mean if I would put up the whole competence, which will last 1 hour and 30 minutes. The competence is divided in 30 minutes, because there will be 3 instructors, one of them is the instructor who gives the class on Sundays at the supermarket. People who participate have to sign and be responsible for their own safety and health. The organizers or sponsors for the championship are not responsible for the health of each individual, that is at risk of each person who would like to participate, each person has to know if they believe they are ready to participate or not, even if it is aerobics for beginners.
I have never ever participated in any kind of competence before of any kind, but this one interests me, even if I dont win I will be happy to have participated, beause it might be like a goal to me that I could end a competence or anything. That day unfortunately I will go by myself to the championship noone in my family can go and see me, because that same day, my parents have already a their plans of their own, because I told them about the championship just days ago. Other people from Sunday´s class will participate too and Im going with them.
So do you think Im ready to participate, knowing now my history on how I have exercising and working out for some years ago? I 34 yrs old and I weigh I believe less than 130 pounds and my height is about 5¨6.
Im Im ready? How can I prepare some days before the competence, I mean what should I eat, like 1 or 2 days before and what should I eat the same day of the competence, hours before it begins?
Thanks

First of all, welcome to the board!!
So you think I will do Ok? An instructor told me that perhaps the day before eat carbs, like pasta and the same day I could hydrate and eat granola bars. I dont like bananas though.
Perhaps for breakfast I can eat some cereal, with orange juice and a slice of bread?
As long as you aren't eating something too heavy right before exercising, anything should be okay - just make sure it isn't high in sugar - you may want to skip the orange juice in favor of just plain ol' water.
