Okay another week of Bit's and Pieces, looking over at what I've got you can sure tell I've been in a rush lately!! Little quicky-workouts, how to drop those 10 pounds quickly, and stretching and a great article on Sun Salutations (a great way to start your day!)

From Canadian Living Magazine (Not just for Canadians, you know! LOL)

Get rid of your love handles. Firm your abs and strengthen your back in less than 10 minutes a day.
Whether you're standing, sitting or bending, strong obliques are a must. The abdominal muscle group consists of the internal and external oblique, transverse abdominis and rectus abdominis muscles. Together they enable you to bend and rotate at the waist and lean from side to side. They also stabilize your spine, which nurtures great posture. The obliques, which attach to the ribs and the hips and run along the sides of your torso, are basically the body's girdle, supporting and protecting your back as you put your body through the paces of day-to-day life.

From Tri-Newbies (Even if you're not thinking of trying a triathlon there's some wonderful info here!)

Question:
I know that it's good to stretch when I exercise. Should I stretch before or after my workout? Is there a difference?
Answer:
Scaling the heights of a climbing wall can be thrilling. And zooming down the boulevard on inline skates can be exhilarating. But before you embark on these or other physical activities, stretching is a must.

From Yoga Journal (An article on Sun Salutations, and can't we all use some more SUN this time of year?)

Here Comes the Sun
That most familiar of asana sequences, Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) is as rich in symbolic and mythic overtones as it is in physical benefits.

From SELF (A few great moves to help shape up!)

Totally Toned in Just 7 Moves. Certain countries have an inside track on sculpting flatter abs, firmer butts or jiggle-free thighs. And now you do, too—without even leaving your living room.
SELF searched six continents for countries with the most boastworthy body parts. Then, with the help of a world-class team of fitness experts, we translated their best sculpting moves into something the rest of us can do here at home. Grab a set of 5- to 10-pound hand weights and a medium-sized ball (a volleyball will do). Perform two sets of each exercise three times a week—along with at least three cardio sessions—and you'll have a body so hot, you'll be accused of causing global warming.

From Fitness Magazine (A fabulous Recipe Resource!)

Cardio Shortcuts: 3 Mini Workouts. These three quick routines are perfect for days when you can't fit in a full session.
To burn fat and slim down, you ideally need to do 45 minutes of cardio four or five times a week—but some days that's impossible. That's where our three-part plan, designed by Chuck Wolf, manager of sport science and human performance for the USA Triathlon National Training Center in Clermont, Florida, comes in. You'll do several short sessions rather than one long one. Really busy? Do just one or two parts to boost energy and stay motivated.
