What is Active Sitting?
There is no Webster's Dictionary definition for Active Sitting, but it is a concept that provides mobility and activity while sitting, which is normally a static activity.

Benefits of Active Sitting
There is an ongoing paradigm shift towards healthy living that includes exercise specifically targeting strength and balance. Using products such as the Classic Exercise Ball Chair (shown to the right) can provide many benefits on a day-to-day basis. Some of these benefits include:
- Strengthening back and abdomen core muscles.
- Improving posture and stabilization of the spine.
- Enhancing balance and your overall relationship with gravity.
- Improving circulation to the lower extremities.

Well I bought a ball especially for work to sit on, but darn, it took FOREVER to pump up!!
I like using my exercise ball at the desk. It's great! Sometimes I even have my son, who is very wiggly sitting in a normal chair, use the ball when he's doing his homework. It seems to help him focus a little more for some reason. (I got the idea from a teacher colleague of my mom's - this teacher uses the balls instead of chairs in her gifted classes and swears by them.)
Thanks for posting this. I will get mine back down here by the desk today for a while!
...lol- perhaps I should get a few for the 'wigglers' in my classroom! Thanks for the idea ;-)
