I've just read the post that Miranda put up about what happened over the past weekend. Thank-you for all your thoughts.

Things are not as hard as they were over the past few days. The friend who died was one of the bartenders at the bar I go to, and frequently work at. His sister is my neighbor. Sadly it was one of the other bartenders who found him. She is very torn about it, and actually has not seen any of us since Saturday.

Living down here in the islands with very little family (usually) around anyone who is a good friend just 'becomes' family'. It's a very tight community down here. His memorial service is on Saturday (his dd is here and bringing him back to Florida for the funeral).

To make matters worse myself and my Mum had a huge fight on Monday....too much to go into, basically a lot of hurtful things said to me; and I fought back.

Everything with her is fine now, but they are leaving tomorrow. I actually think that her whole demeanor has changed now that she has finally made a decision as to what to do. Going back to Ireland where she will be in her own home, have access to her own doctor and friends and family will hopefully help for a speedy recovery. Though the doctor here said she's improving nicely.

I did see a few 'old' familiar faces around here- welcome back Darcy, Debbie and Cat!! And welcome to all the newbies. Hopefully my mind will be in the right frame to come and post a proper welcome soon, and get back into the swing of things around here.

Eating hasn't been too bad; that is when I eat, but let's not even mention exercise ;-)

Anyways.....thought I would stop by with a quick hello.

ps. HUGE THANKS to Miranda for holding down the fort!!!!

Sounds like you are holding up well, all things considered. Why does life have to be like this??? I'm sure a lot of stress will be relieved once you parents are on their way back to Ireland. I'll be thinking about you!

I am sorry that you have lost a good friend. It's also too bad that you and your mom had to endure a hurtful disagreement. I hope that all is well for you two. I think that everyone will be a bit relieved once your parents are back home. It's great to be with family, but now that we're adult children, we have our lives and our parents have theirs as well. I hope your mom does well one she's back home.

Take care of yourself.

Thanks Ladies!! Your words mean so much. It's been a tough ol' week down here.

I dropped my parents off to the airport yesterday, and to be honest drove away not knowing how I should feel; relieved, happy, angry, sad, worried, etc...so I drove home numb. I was going to go back to work, but decided not to, and came home and cleaned. (My favorite thing to do when in a mood like that!!)

This weekend we have the Memorial for my friend, so I may not be around that much. Hopefully by Monday my head will be screwed on a little tighter and I will be around more then, especially with the beginning of the Community Challenge starting.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Take Care~
