I thought I'd ask. As I have two things. Slim in 6, and running on a treadmill. I am thinking about buying that ball workout, but it's like $40, ouch! And I'm broke/poor for awhile.

So, what is your regime like? Aerobics? Sports? Walking? Running? Do tell. Maybe I'll get some ideas.

And if you're poor/broke like me, what do you do if things cost money? What "cheap" things do you do?

The spelling of those thing like hap ki do, or hapkido, is somewhat open to debate. People spell taekwon do that way, or tae kwon do and our Master instructor said both are correct. Same thing in any case.

Maybe you can give karate a try some day. You wouldn't have to be too dedicated to it in the beginning, maybe go once a week, until you see if you're really hooked and want to progress or not. Martial arts are certainly good workouts in any case.

Actually I do belong to a gym for a VERY cheap price. But I also realized, when I work out, I prefer to be alone. So that's why gym's don't help me much. I stop going cuz I don't feel comfortable. However, I do use the gym at my apartment complex. I'm usually alone AND I get to run in the dark. I love it. It's the only reason I was running so much. And yes, that is one thing I wnat to get back to doing. Just seeing what everyone else was doing. :)

Hi, I'm new to this board, but thought I'd give you my input. About 7 mths ago, I started jogging, actually, I started walking about a mile. I got to where I would run a short distance, then walk to catch my breath, then run again. Now, I'm running 1.5 to 2.5 miles 3-4 times a week. I've lost 15-20 lbs doing it and I haven't really changed what I eat. I don't eat as much and I don't make myself miserable anymore by eating so much. Running has done the trick for me. I don't mind running in the cold either, I'll wear a t-shirt, sweatshirt and stocking cap and I'm just fine.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I'm off to buy a ball (my first purchase). I was reading online and BOY there are A LOT of different ones. And even how strong the plastic is, how good it is, etc. And then I'll prolly order some dvd's from netflix on ball exercises and videotape them (I think that's legal, since I'm not reselling it).

I'm also going to start walking/running and doing my aerobics dvd. And later, I'll start renting OTHER dvd's from Netflix (thanks SS for telling me this).

This is my start. And pretty cheap. It'll just cost the ball amount (which may be up to $30 for a good one). :)

Did you ever try "The Firm" videos or Denise Austin? I really enjoy both and they give me a variety.

Thanks for the suggestions...The Frim has been suggested, I think, but not Denise.....(she's even on TV Cher, on Lifetime. No idea what time she would be on for you way over there in CA though!)

Again, thanks for the suggestions Meg, and welcome to the board :-)
