Have you heard of Good Housekeeping's new "Supermarket Diet" book?

Sounds pretty interesting, and they have some yummy sounding recipes too. Here's what they have to say about the book-

We've never published a diet book before and, frankly, we're skeptical about many diets ‑- too complicated, too expensive, too confining. But The Supermarket Diet is different.

It's based on everyday foods you'll find in the supermarket, packaged and fresh, so you won't have to spend hours cooking fancy or expensive meals. And the recipes have been triple-tested in the Good Housekeeping Food Kitchen, so you know they'll come out right, and they'll be delicious.

Exercise is an important part of staying healthy and keeping weight off, of course. So The Supermarket Diet has sensible fitness advice, with exercises you can easily do at home or in the neighborhood.

And more...

Shop till you drop...pounds, that is! Our new book, The Supermarket Diet, is designed to help you navigate grocery store aisles with weight loss in mind. The program begins with a 1,200-calorie regimen ‑- excerpted here ‑- that promises results in two weeks. (With exercise, you could lose up to five pounds.) After that, you'll graduate to a more flexible 1,500-calorie plan ‑- click here for some recipes you'll love. And, of course, the book offers many more.

Just wondering if anyone has heard/bought or thought about buying the book?

I tend to agree with you in regards to 'set' menu's Debbie....but some of their ideas you could definitely use on your own.

One of the reasons I never try any of "those" diets is because I want to learn how to do this eating thing for myself, and if I have to rely on some set menu I'm probably not going to learn much for down the road. You know? (Plus there's usually a number of things on them that I wouldn't eat, lol)

"Set Menu" plans are always an issue for me, because there is invariably something that I can't eat on the menu.
