I've had it for a while but hadn't opened it yet. It was pretty good & I really felt like I got a good workout but I wasn't able to do everything at the same level as the tape. They did have 1 girl who was doing the modified version but sometimes I couldn't even keep up with her. My problem is that I just can't keep my head & shoulders up without keeping my hands behind my neck for support. I end up getting really bad pains in my neck.

Do you think I'm getting as much benefit by having to use my hands for support? Also, do you think I will be able to not need support once I strengthen my abs?

I've been exercising a bit with Pilates myself too. I have Gaiam Beginning and Intermediate Pilates Mat Workout videos. I love them! They're easy to follow and not too difficult to master after few tries. I already felt my body tightening just after few exercises.

But I wanted to know if doing Pilates few times a week will help me lose weight and get fit, or do I need to add another cardio activities in addition to doing Pilates?

From what I've read/heard, on one of my Pilates videos actually, it's a good idea to add some cardio, maybe on days you're not doing Pilates.

Hi! I got a balance ball at Christmas time and started the beginning of january. I bought Gaiam balance ball for beginners video to go with it, and have used it religiously ever since. For the first 2 weeks I was wondering what good it was doing. I'm a treadmiller and I thought that if I wasn't sweating it wasn't productive. Then something miraculous happened! I got out of bed one morning and my neck and shoulders didn't ache!! It was the freakiest thing! Then, I was able to walk faster on the treadmill because my joints were more limber. I've had problems with my joints for as long as I could rememeber, just wear and tear due to life-long weight issues, I guess, but especially with my hips and knees. If I walked faster than 3.4 I'd either blow out my left hip or right knee. I'm now up to 3.8! And a week after this happened, my waist was visibly slimmed. And that's sayin somethin. I'm 65lb lighter than my heaviest and have given birth to twins so I was convinced that the only thing that could save this belly would be a tummy tuck, but in just 5 weeks I have new hope. The beginning of this week I saw my ribs. Maybe this isn't impressive to you, but it amazed me. I've also seen a difference in my thighs.

So I'm addicted and will probably do it for the rest of my life. This weekend I'll be buying the intermediate tape.

Hi, and welcome! Congrats on getting on the ball, so to speak, this year! And isn't great to see some results, not just on the scale? Hope you were able to get that intermediate tape over the weekend.

Amy- welcome to the board too! (I agree with Lorie....add in some cardio workouts too!)
