New here, hello all!

This board is great, Ive been reading through the posts and I have to say, the support here is beautiful.

I've been on an uphill battle against 20 lbs, off and on for about 10 years. The fluctuating weight/health is so frustrating, and sometimes I feel so far gone (or like nothing will do) that I just give up. I want to FEEL better, mentally, physically, emotionally, but I dont have a whole lot of support at home. I have boys who need my attention, a husband who isnt consistant about ANYTHING, and I moved my ill grandma in with us so she wouldnt be all alone....I never really have any time for myself.

I recieved a free stair-climber from a freecycle member and Ive been waiting for...oh....2 weeks for my DH to help me put it together. Forget him, later today, I'll do it myself. Im bound and determined to get healthy, with or without help from my family.

So glad I found you all; I hope this is the beginning of something positive for me; I'll offer all I can along the way as well.

Hi Mia, and welcome, glad you found us!! Just an idea about the stair-climber (for when it is put together....good luck with it if you are doing it yourself.....lots of bits and pieces, lol) is to put it in a room with a TV and use it while watching some show you'd normally be on the couch for! (I'm dusting off my ball, to use tonight!!!)

Looking forward to seeing you around~

Hi Mia! Glad your here! I totally relate to having to deal with husband and kids. Wow, your great to take on your grandmother. That is a huge responsibility. Sounds like you got the right attitude. There are times we just have to make time for ourselves. Honestly what's the worse that can happen? Dirty dishes sit out longer than normal? Kids have to wait another 30 minutes for dinner? Taking care of yourself a little is going to help you take care of the family better! (note to self: Take own advice!) lol

Welcome and good luck getting that stairmaster together!

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome! The stair climber is still not all the way put together....there are SO many pieces, OH MY GOSH! Im getting there...probobly finish up today...DH offered to help yesterday, but never actually followed through which is FINE BY ME at this point since Im feeling a very independent surge!

:)

I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks again for the welcome!

..."there are SO many pieces", LOL I can only imagine! At the back of my 'bike' book there's a picture of "things" to help you put it together (mine was delivered put together) and there a zillion pieces to the thing. Keep that surge of independence coming.....

Hi! I'm new here to-and struggling with weight (only more like extra 40-50 pounds) I gained 80 pounds when I was pregnant with my son (13 years ago) and lost it all. Since then I have regained 40-50 pounds at least 3 times. I think it's taken a toll on me.(ok I know it has) but this time is different-I want to get healthy-not just "skinny" (which was always my goal before-I wasn't happy until I was in size 5 and always trying to lose more)
well,good luck :)

Thanks for the encouragement and understanding! Today, while I was out to lunch with a friend, I thought of this board when it came time to order. I opted out of a Chimichanga and went for a shrimp burrito instead. Im not sure it was all that much better, but it wasnt deep fried! I've found this board to be such motivation to make healthier choices. And by the way, that stair climber? Its put together, but I have "extra pieces". I dont think its ment to come with extra pieces so Im going to take a close look here at what I've missed....but my independent surge still runs strong!

Way to go getting that stairmaster together! I'm impressed. I imagine myself sitting in the middle of the floor surrounded by a pile of rubble breaking down into tears. lol

Also, way to make a better choice at lunch. That is what is great about this board it helps you develop some better
