So...I don't know if any of you have heard of the MBT Sneakers. They are expensive.

I saw them in the Bliss catalog a few years ago...making claims about cellulite etc. I know that you can't get rid of cellulite like that so I didn't really pay them much mind, but I did do quite a bit of research on the sneakers elsewhere on other sites and read up on them and on the benefits of the sneakers in regards to posture, back pain, muscle aches, circulation etc.

Varicose veins are in my family and I fell down the stairs a few years ago and injured my back so I get a lot of back pain, also I recently went to the neurologist and found out the vein going to my head that brings spinal fluid has a clot which causes intercranial hypertension all very technical anyhow, needless to say a chicropractor wouldn't be too bad to go too to release toxins build up in the spinal column. So the more I read up on the sneakers the more they seemed beneficial to me but the price tag again is quite hefty, so I got my income tax return and just said F it and went for it.

I got them a week ago saturday. It's hard to get used to walking in them, and they kind of hurt my feet, they are very different, I walked the first day only for 7 minutes in them. The next morning I woke up and I said why does my stomach hurt, it felt like I had done situps for hours, I swear on my grandmothers grave...I kid you not. You really do use different muscle groups in the way the sneakers are constructed, I worked up to 20 mins so far. I'm hoping to wear the sneakers a full 30 mins every morning on the treadmill. I just thought I'd give a little product update on them. Since I am sure some have seen them around and thought YEAH RIGHT! it is kind of weird.

Very interesting. I just thought they were a waste of $. You'll have to keep us posted on the long term effects. I might have to reconsider them.

Definitely I'll let you know, my friend was away last week and she came back and said to me, you've lost weight and I haven't weighed myself so I wouldn't really know, so I was like oh maybe...LOL I've added the working out now since she's seen me last and then went home and my hairdresser and dad said the same thing so who knows.

I'll definitely post, I think I may do some measurements as well just to see, they do definitely take getting used too and you can't look down when you walk which I am known to do so it's hard to look straight ahead. I had to watch the DVD a few times in how to walk in them. lol

I've never heard of these....doing a search now for them, as your post has really caught my attention. (I also just saw a Seinfeld episode about the 'jump' sneakers (or whatever they were called) and immediately thought they might be something like those, lol- they're not!!)

They look like they have a different kind of sole to them- http://www.blissworld.com/promos/bem/20050920_shape/mbt_ath.jpg

Yes, they do look a little chunky for a sneaker....what's the inside like, like a regular shoe, or is there 'bumps and stuff' in there? (I know....badly worded question, but to be honest I don't know how else to ask, lol!)

Thanks for the review, and yes, please keep us updated on how they work out for you!

No they feel like a regular sneaker inside but they aren't flat. So when you are in them you rock back and forth when you are standing straight so if you and I were standing facing each other chit chatting I would be rocking back and forth and you would be flat on the ground because of the way the shoes are shaped.

According to the DVD they have stores but they were created in Switzerland so maybe they are more popular out there and they are just starting to come over to the US...so I'm not sure if you can buy them in a "store" around here. I bought mine online at bliss (www.blissworld.com) so I am sure if you went into a bliss spa (they are located in NYC) they may have the shoes there to try on.
