Push Ups!

Just curious on how many of you have push ups in your regular exercise routine?
If you don't, or can't you should consider doing it. Just a few pushups everyday does wonders for those arm's, even if you have to start at just 1/2 of one with knees down(girl push-ups).

I totally agree with this! Start out doing whatever you can and even just increasing by one push up each week you will be surprised how quickly your strength builds up. I also suggest sit ups.
Think I might just add this back to my daily routine. One because it's not really that time consuming and I just need to get back in that exercise routine.

Push ups are a must!
I do muay thai, and push ups are a part of our routine. Normally, as we warm up, we do a similar routine as you described with running and push ups. In the end of each session we do 80-130 more. I have to admit I only do 30-60 real push ups and the rest I do with knees down, but it's way more than the 5 I did back in 2004 when I started MT.
I also warmly recommend them to everybody - I even make my friends to do push ups after a walk/run to make the excercise complete.

What a great idea about adding some push-ups each day - geez, I'm sure I can at least fit in some some push-ups!! LOL
Pipsa, welcome to the board!
Hello Island Girl! Thank you for the welcome. I've enjoyed reading the board for quite a while, and was thrilled to find someone else as addicted to push ups as me.
Muay thai is a martial art, very similar to kick boxing. There are certain techniques in muay thai that aren't allowed in kick boxing and vice versa. I've found muay thai very good excercise, and I lost 6 kg of flab during the first year doing it, so it's well worth the sweating and aching! In Finland, they advertise muay thai as "the hardest sport on earth", and it might be true...

Hi Happy Mom, welcome to the board, and thanks for your idea of the ball push-ups! I love using my ball for push-ups, and can actually do them on it. I find them a lot easier than w/out it actually.
I did 10 (on the ball) yesterday evening :-)
