Good for you!!

I'm still adjusting to the "about to lose my pants feel", however, I find the lower rise jeans a tad bit more comfortable around the middle.

That's fantastic news Darcy- and nothing like a spur of the moment shopping spree that turns out so successful! I have to say I feel the same way you do...sorry did, about the low risers. Perhaps I'll have to go and try on another pair and think again!!

Yipee!!!! I'm so happy for you! I love the 'Mushroom effect' description. I call it 'Muffin top'. And I'm super happy to have a reason to do a little dance. I'll add this one to my regular shopping dance routine. My kids love when I do the "new shoe" dance. Seriously!

{Doin' the pants dance, oh yeah, I'm dancin', uh-huh, that's right!}

Just got my first pair of low rise jeans at Christmas time. They are way more comfortable than I thought they'd be, but I feel like they're falling off too. It's so cool that the size eight fits you well right now.

CONGRATULATIONS

You sound like me, I ahve always wore the "grandma jeans" Until this year after watching the Oprah show I decided to buy a pair of low rise fitted jeans size 13, two sizes bigger than i want to be but I fgured it would help me look slimmer, well it did, but I have the feeling that my butt is hanging out , I am constaly hitching them up, I have lost 12 pounds since I bought them so they are starting to feel loose, but want to wait until I get a size 9. I also fight with my daughter as she wears her really low, I swear its like 2 inches above her crotch.

I have to tell you about a friend I have and her new jeans. She struggles with her weight all the time and is a plain, quiet woman who is very single and imagine she will remain that way for the rest of her life. She is in her early 40s. She was a firm believer in elastic and was really starting to wear clothes that looked kind of "old ladyish".

Recently she tried nutri system and lost about 10 lbs. probably. I have talked her into bowling with me this year which is a big step for her. She doesn't like to put herself out there for fear of being ridiculed. Last week she shoed up in mid-rise jeans with a slight flair in the leg.

Let me tell you what this made her look so much thinner! She didn't look like the frumpy woman she was becoming. I was so proud of her.

We spent most of the evening discussing
