Yes it is exciting, and Matt is okay with moving to Calgary - the only problem is that I have always had a hard time standing up to my Mom and she is just one of those family members who has a tendency to be a tad controlling - you know talks you into to doing things that you might not want to do.

YAY! My fingers are crossed for you. : )

Really quickly, I am a complete believer that EVRYTHING happens for a reason. Maybe this would not only be a great opportunity career wise, but also put you in a position to grow (as far as your mom is concerned). Setting boundaries, speaking up, etc is important...could this be a good opportunity there, as well? I hear you with your mom...my mom is the SAME way. I live far from her on purpose (that sounds sweet, I know) and still dont have all the boundaries set with her that I should. I just want her to listen and SUPOORT, not offer her 2 cents or critique...of course, some things never change, but some things CAN and do...

Either way you approach it, Im happy and excited for you. I hope you get exactly what you're seeking!

: )

Miranda:

That's wonderful! Don't worry about the pay, I worked for a municipality and the following was true:

* You have the best insurance because it is in allignment with the police force
* Same for pension/retirement
* Stability, because the possiblity of a union and all that goes with
* They are affiliated with other state organizations and depending on how they operate,
there are opportunities to buy reduced tickets for social functions, etc.
* You will get all of the state holiday's off!!!!

Good luck
