I almost always have salad for lunch, but it has to have something in it.

I guess it would fall under the "something semi-healthy" category. I had, thin sliced roast beef on one piece (1/2 sandwich)

Hoping it is classified as semi-healthy: spaghetti bolognese, homemade w/onion, peppers, bacon and garlic.

- never even heard of a white carrot!

Is it grown the same way as white asparagus?
Are they pricey?
What was it like?

Is it grown the same way as white asparagus? Well, it's a root vegetable, but I am not sure whether it's a radish or a variety of carrot that some researchers say has been around for hundreds of years. I read two different website's because I had never seen such a thing until yesterday, but I'm still not sure. It seems to me that it's a radish though, because the website that was describing different colors of carrots, including white, red and even purple, say that they taste just like orange carrots. This didn't taste like an orange carrot.

Are they pricey? It must not have been 'cause SO said all of the things he bought added up to a small amount. Things aren't usually expensive at that little store.

What was it like? It did taste like a cross between radish

I don't really like radishes. I didn't like it too well, but SO seemed OK with it. I got in some more of the good ol' orange carrots and had them w/hummous with lunch today - much better.

I had a cup of super-healthy high fiber cereal and greek yogurt and salad. All of my colleagues were eating together and having chinese food. The whole time I was just praying that they wouldn't give me "a hard time". I got two questions "Are you on a diet?" and after I replied that I was just trying to eat healthfully, thankfully, they didn't press! It's hard to make choices like that with everyone watching, especially because I'm only on my last 5 pounds to lose, and so many people tell me that "I don't need to lose weight." That may be true, but I don't need to eat 2 platefuls of dumplings, either! (Which is what I would do when I don't have the willpower!)
