I finally joined fitday

I've been using the USDA site to track my calories & such but it doesn't have a lot of stuff in it & you can't add custom foods. So I started with fitday today & I am amazed at how much fat I consume each day. Even though everything I eat is low fat I end up having 50% fat so far today. That's just breakfast & lunch! I had no idea how much fat & calories low fat yogurt & low fat cheese really have. Maybe that's why I can't lose any weight.

Anyway, any tips or ideas on how to maximize my usage of fitday? I know a lot of you ladies here use it. Thanks.

I just started using fitday on Friday. Wasn't doing too bad on Friday, not so good over the weekend. My fat was too high - it seems. What percentages do you go by? I looked online and found a fairly wide range, of course, that included the low carb people, but I don't do well with low carbs, trying to run and doing martial arts and stuff.

The best breakdown I found was from the government (US government): 60% carbs, but that number should include 25 grams of dietary fiber, no more than 20-25% fat and the rest from protein, although they didn't give the percentage. One would assume that it would be what was left.

Thanks for the hints Miranda. I would have never thought to input my vitamins in there.

I have no idea what my percentages of fat, carbs, etc. should be. Any ideas?
