AF does it to me.... so does ovulating!! So does eating red meat or pizza or spaghetti and I'm starting to suspect that a cup of hot tea does it to me too! ha.

I posted the same thing a month or so ago. It seems I fluctuate about 5 pounds throughout the month, getting "heavier" before AF. Seems to be a pretty common issue with women. You just need to accept it & not worry. In a week or two you'll be down a few pounds. It is very frustrating though, the joys of being female, LOL!

Hey Alex, I always think a good rule of thumb is not to count the loss/gain unless you see the same numbers two weeks in a row - our bodies do fluctuate depending on what we ate that day, how much we drink, how much salt we take in, what point of our cycles we're at, you name it.

Hi Alex...and welcome (I don't think I've done that before).

If you have added any strength training that could cause a weight gain as well. Conversly, adding muscle will also help burn more calories. So adding those weights will help counteract AFs effect on your weight later down the line.

I used to put on weight during those visits. But regular water consumption and weight training have helped change that. I usually stay the same. I don't loose any but I do not gain. Although my waist measurement usually increases a little, so I know the bloat is still there.

But that amount of weight gain is not signifigant so don't let it get you down. You can usually loose that in a trip to the bathroom. Make the time to exercise, maybe a brisk walk out side so you can also detox from life stress. Just a thought.

I agree with the others here Alex....it's probably due to AF. I love weighing in after AF, there's always a loss- whether a *real* loss or not, it's still a great boost!
