Got to Workout on a Good Track

SO asked me to come over last evening. I had more boxes packed, so we took some more stuff. I wanted to go out for my walk/run too though.
When we got to his city, about 20 minutes away, he took me over to the middle/high school campus. They have a great track there, one of those ones that is made of that rubbery stuff that is reddish colored. (Usually I am doing my outdoor workout on a dirt track in the park where I live.) The main gate was open, so I went in and did my workout there. It was so cool to be able to walk/run on such a good track. Running is still running, but that material seems to be more kind to the body.
SO doesn't know if it will be open all of the time, but his daughter (who was a thrower on the track team there when she was in HS a few years ago) said that there is one gate that's always open. It would be nice to have access to that when I move there after the wedding. They keep their tennis courts open all through the summer.

That sounds great!!!
I don't play tennis, yet; SO's did in college and his kids had lessons. I asked SO if he will teach me after I move there. He said that he could, but he thinks the kids took his stuff. We were talking about it one evening when I was over, and his DD said that her dad could play but that (she and her brother) had taken his stuff. Guess he was right. Ya know how things happen in families; sibblings or children "borrow" stuff for the long term.
SO commented that it's one month today. It has gone pretty fast. I think this next few weeks will pass quickly too. We, well I, still have some little details to deal with.
Oh yeah, a good track can make a BIG difference. I had that at my HS and it's GREAT! Granted, ours kinda sucked cuz it was black (got VERY hot). I miss it. lol. Have you tried running on grass instead of a dirt track? Some dirt tracks can be pretty hard. Although, most likely better than concrete.
Trust me, a good track, easy on the joints, makes running much more pleasureable. lol.
Good luck with the tennis. DF and I bought racquets not long ago, and found some courts near our new house....we hope they're public.
I'd think dirt is better than the concrete, but after running on that track, I'm thinking dirt is still pretty hard. It's a bit less so after a rain, but then it has pubbles in some places. I may have to give grass a try.
It will be good for exercise there when the weather is nice. I was going to look into what tennis rackets cost. You're right, I don't need the most expensive ones out there, just something good enough for a beginnger to play with.
The city itself is a different kind of environment than where I live now too. I could go for a late walk and feel safe, much more than where I'm currently living. I mean, there's trouble everywhere anymore, and one should always be aware, but it's such a small town kind of place still, very cool.

I expect I'll be running all over after the ball too, because I'm missing it and I have to go get it.
It will really be nice to have that option for exercise too though. And it might, just might, get SO out for some exercise too.
