Hi I'm a 33 married mom of 2 boys looking to lose 20 - 30 lbs. The disgusting part is that right now I can't fit into any of my pants that I wore last year. GRRRRR - I can't even get them over the hips. I'm so tired of looking frumpy and want to get my fit sexy self back which was only 20lbs ago. Hoping to find others with the same goal to keep motivated.

Hi Kitti! I am new here too, and want to loose another 35-40 lbs. as well. I, like you, am having trouble staying/getting motivated. It should be so simple, eat less, exercise....blah, blah, blah. I am going to start posting a daily journal on here of food and exercise stats, and maybe a weekly weigh in post. Hopefully, that will give me some accountability, especialy to myself. They say just writing stuff down can open your eyes to some bad habits and problem "times" of your day.

Good luck, hope to see you around! Jodi

Kitti, I know *just* how you feel! That is where I am at right now. I'm a 31 year old mom of 3 children (8,5,2) and I got down my spring/summer clothes from last year...well, I couldn't get any of my clothes up past my thighs even. It was very upsetting for me. I'm 11 pounds heavier than I was last year this time. So yesterday I officially started back. I'm just doing it the old fashioned way. Last year I had lost a total of 35 pounds or so...but then put back on 11... so I know I can do it, the hardest part is making it through that first week of making better choices. Exercising is hard for me to get started with too...I started walking yesterday though.

Journals help a lot. I keep one down in the journal section of this board. www.fitday.com is a great place to keep track of your calories. I did that last year. I have a good idea of how much I should be eating now so I don't plan to actually count every calorie this time...but it was a great tool and helped me a lot.

Losing even just 2 pounds will help you get very excited and motivated.... and that can be done in one disciplined week. :o) There are lots of healthy tips here on the board. Lots of great exercising tips too. We support and encourage each other here. I can't wait to hear about the progress you will be making. :o)

Speaking of keeping track of your eating. Its just so odd that you get information in one place of how many calories your suppose to consume and then you get something else when you look else where. Sometimes they say that the lack of weightloss is not enough calories are being taken in. Does anyone know where is the best way to figure out how much you should be eating?

www.fitday.com also has one of those tools that tells you how much you burn, how much you should take in to lose however much you want each week. Nothing is totally correct becasue bodies are different and activity levels are different...but its a good place to start and then I guess we just need to try and tweek it along the way to see what works best for our bodies.
