New to ivillage but not dieting!
I am currently 30 lbs overweight. I started to eat right begining of this year and still keeping up with it. I do cardio at least 3X and strength trained 2-3X. I have not seen weight loss yet. :( I do see a change in the tape measurer but I still feel blah. I guess PMS and bloating doesn't help at all! :P
Just looking for some folks to talk to either email or if you are local to the New Baltimore area (Michigan), I would love to hear from you.

Hi Darla! You've come to a great board. I came here early last year and I lost 35 pounds. I slacked off and gained back 11 but I'm working them off right now, just started back a week or so ago. Its an encouraging group here and I can't wait to see your progress! You might like to start journaling your days...there is a section down the board for it. :o)

Hello and welcome from another Michigan resident. I'm in Ypsilanti right now, but will be moving a bit further south after the wedding.
Sounds like you have a plan in place. Someone else suggested writing down things you eat. You can do that with fitday.com and it will calculate calories for you, including the breakdown of percentages of carbs, proteins and fats. You can also enter your workouts there. I just started using it last month, and it has been interesting to see exactly how things shake out. I was pleased to find out that I wasn't doing too badly, but I have learned a few things from it too.

BTW, if you ever do any of the local 5K events, walks or runs, let me know. Maybe we'll run into each other at one.

I tried to write the food down thing on sparkpeople.com and I did try fitday as well. I am pretty structured on what I eat everyday. I basically eat the same foods everyday. My problem is that I need to do cardio longer than 30 minutes. But I am working on it!
