Not enough time to exercise. I'd love to be able to hit the gym every day but by the time I get home, eat dinner & take care of house stuff its usually 9pm. Kinda late to be working out since I need to go to bed at 10 so I get enough sleep.

Right now I"m saying too many calories in general, but consistency is big too - as I usually do well during the week, but horribly on the weekend! So I don't gain weight, but I don't lose either.

I voted "Other." I'm doing pretty well right now, but usually my mindset is my biggest obstacle. What usually happens with me is that my rose-colored glasses come off and suddenly I can't get over how fat I am. I let the negative self-talk and my impatience get in the way of my progress, and I quit. Or I set myself up for failure by creatiing impossible expectations -- like I want to lose tons of weight IMMEDIATELY or I expect to see a 20 pound difference each morning when I get up.

I think we all want to wake up with a sudden weight loss.

I voted too many calories in general. Although I was doing very well, the week before the week before the wedding especially, the calories are slowly climbing up. Now they are moving up just a little, but that's enough to be concerned about because I don't want to be in the place I was in, where "it's just a little" causes me to start gaining some of the weight I lost again.

It's harder now that I'm living with DH. When we go out, he can order coneys and fries, and fried fish and fries (although he shouldn't so much) and I can order salads and small meals. But at home, he likes to cook. One night last week, I wanted a salad, just a salad. He wanted me to have meat and stuff. He said he is going to make sure I have a good dinner now. What I would like him to understand is that sometimes I really am OK with just grabbing a SlimFast or cottage cheese and fruit in the evenings. I may just have to be more careful about portions now if he wants to cook; it does make him happy. He is trying too. We had tuna steaks (I couldn't finish mine - good leftovers though)

One of the ways I combat my old habits is that I keep my scale put away. I used to just keep it under my vanity, but now I've actually moved it to my storage unit (which is in my apartment complex, just a short walk away). I only bring it out every couple weeks so that I can see my progress. That way I'm not getting on it every single day, expecting to see some ridiculous and unlikely difference. The rest of the time, I just try to go by how my clothes fit. I have gained a lot of weight during the last 4 years, thanks to a miserable marriage and divorce and my own bad habits, so I have a long way to go. But somehow it seems easier if I can celebrate my accomplishments each day -- like healthy food choices and lots of miles on the treadmill -- rather than whatever number is on the scale.

Yep your married no doubt about it! ;o) It can be quite the obstical compromising and understand where each person is coming from. I always hate to hurt my husbands feelings when he cooks if I don't eat something he has took the time to prepare and is all excited about.

Ya, DH does get excited about some of the stuff he cooks, and he's a good cook, no doubt. I just sort of feel like I have to fight hard to stay where I am with my weight, not so much fight with him. I mean like workout harder or make compensation at lunch or other places to keep on track when dinners may be a bit more than what I'mm used to. But maybe that'll work.

I voted for not enough exercise.....I know that's my downfall. I can keep the food under control, most of the time, but exercise is another thing!!!

Plus water ;-)
