Hi all!
I just joined Ivilliage today, and this is my first time posting. A little about me--
I'm 33 and have been married for a year (no kids at this time). At the time of my wedding (and for about 4-5 years before that), I was in the best shape/health of my life. After the wedding, we focused on house hunting, moving, and since then, doing stuff around the house. Plus, I had major surgery in February. So, in a nutshell, portion sizes crept up and regular exercising went out the window.
The scale numbers haven't changed, but boy has my body and the way my clothes fit. I am very disappointed in myself for letting things go, but I've made a commitment to make a change. Of course the hard part is that I love food and hate exercise. :) But, my goal is 13 pounds by Sept. 15. I'm using that as incentive to get back on track and resume my good habits. I know it isn't about a number, but if I can make it to that number, I know I'll be eating better and being more healthy.
My plan at this point is to cut back on portion sizes and do 30 minutes of exercise a day (walking, running on the elipitcal, yoga). Now the trick is to stay motivated. :) This board seems like a friendly place, and I'm so happy I found it.
