Pedometers???

Okay I got this pedometer for the Walk Across Wyoming thing. Seemed to be working just fine the first week. I was averaging about 2,000 steps per day with out any extra walking. Even this last Sunday seemed to work great went for a long walk and it got about 8,000 steps.

Now this week it seems not to be working. It only registered 150 steps yesterday. Are all pedometers this cheap? It must be broken right? There is no way to readjust it or anything. Just a reset button.

Any suggestions on a good brand to purchase? Are they all this faulty??

My two cents, put some money into it.

I notice either it stops working, or the clip breaks. I had a $15 one, the clip broke. My mom has had 5. Two were "free", they stopped working correctly. Two were "cheaper" (less than $20), the clips broke, but continued to work. The one she has left, I think she spent like $35 on.

So, I'd put some money into it, buy something good. And check out the clip area. Also if you buy one that is for distance, be sure to buy one that measures your steps. Although my $15 one did, like I said, it wasn't the pedometer that broke, it was the clip. So lame.

I'd love to hear what brand, if any, people are using. and nope, sorry, I have no clue what my mom has.

I have to agree with Cher her, pay the price, and invest in a good one. When I bought one, a couple of years back, I got a cheap one from KMart, but really I was just interested in seeing how many steps, on average, I took a day. It broke in the middle of week 3....but it seemed to forever reset itself!!

~I have no ideas of good VS bad brands though. Sorry.

NP. I'm thinking about getting one now. Prolly the $25 one. :) Although, I did see something called a FitBug. That seemed neat. lol. But at $140, not sure if it's worth it, although it does come with an online site where you can track your food and all that too. So it's a whole system.

I think, I'll just take my new iPod and go walking/running. :)
